Does anyone know if it's possible to show a view attribute in the part navigator as a column while in drafting?
I want to display the VWLETTER attribute so I can see what view letters are being used more easily.
When I type in the VWLETTER as a column nothing populates, so either it can't be done or I'm doing it incorrectly.

Mass Edit NX Server and Bundle Settings & Default Working Directory for 200 Computers
We have about 200 computers in our university labs that will run NX 11.0.1. We have set up the servers and everything on the server side is OK.
However, we don't want to login all computers one by one and set the NX Server using Licence Tool. We can send any file to these computers using a moderator computer at once.
Is there a way of setting the server environment settings and bundle settings via a file or via any means?
Question-2: We also want to change the default working folder from C:\Program Files\Siemens\NX 11.0\UGII to a different place at once. Is there a way of doing this at once for all 200 computers?

NX 9 GLOBAL Shaping
Hello All,
I have a question on application of Global shaping tool.(option: surface option)
while using this tool for spring back compensation the radius features are distorting by the value we do.
with this result, we need to create the features again which takes time.
so is there any tool that replaces this requirement?

NX MCD
Hello everyone!
I am trying to connect NX 11.0.0 with virtual CPU-1500.
In TIA portal, I create a controller with OPC UA server and then I upload it to PLC SIM Advance virtual controller.
Before I’ am trying to connect CPU with NX, I‘ am tested id with opc client - OPC scout, and the connection was fine - i can read and write variables from CPU.
Next I ‘am trying to add my OPC server to NX (choose remote server and add controller ID with port to server ProgID), but I received the warning "the server not reachable".
Can U help me with this problem? Maybe NX didn't support OPC UA?

Bending and unbending tubing
I have a user, that is trying to model, bend, and then unbend a piece of tubing, using sheet metal module. He wants the unbent form, so it can be laser cut, and the bent for use in the assembly.
he's had no luck, and I've tried to help, but because it's not true sheet metal, and bends and normal cut outs are 90° to each other, they don't play well together.
So far, my best solution is to model it unbent, extract a body at time stamp, and then bend the original into the finished shape. I was actually surprised he got the "Bend" feature to work, on hollow tubing.
Is there a better tool, or module to do this? Mechanical routing maybe?

Import assemblies from test server teamcenter to production server teamcenter
Hi all,
We started working with teamcenter in a test environment. Due to deadlines we started to do projects in the test environment. Now we want to start moving projects with assemblies en drawings into the production server.
We have standard bolt and nuts autogenerated in the 100000 serie in both environments.
We use an autonumbering system for designing parts in the 200000 serie
I started with exporting an assembly from teamcenter test environment to a local disk. With the function
"export assembly"
Then I imported the assembly into the production server with the function "import assembly".
I set the numbering function to be the same as in the test environment because some parts are released and send to suppliers. If the numbers are not the same different drawings can have the same number and vice versa. this will cause a lot of trouble.
For the 200000 series this went oke.
Unfortunatly we run into the following problem:
Bolts and nuts in the assemblies will be assigned in the 200000 series as well, but we want to let teamcenter search in the production server for the bolt and nuts.
For example (see attached screenshot):
The number 200219 is made for a component which had to be in the 100000 serie (105252). It is possible to replace the component with the "replace component" function. Unfortunately we lose then a number in the 200000 series. Because the part (200219) is also empty we can not find it in the teamcenter database. Therefore we will not be able to use that number anymore. Because we have a few projects with around a thousand parts in it we would like to know if there is a solution for this.
My question is:
Is it possible to make teamcenter search in its own database when importing a file with the function "import assembly".
Is there another function to use?

NX white particles
Hi,
I am currently using NX and I seem to be having a graphical error when I move my cursor. As in the image lots of white particles are left behind when I move my mouse around. It looks like some sort of weird snowy effect.
I am currently running Windows 7.
Graphics card: NVIDIA NVS 510
NX version: 11.0.2.7
My graphics drivers are up to date. Is there anything I can do to fix this it really disrupts my working.

Checkmate Authoring
I have looked through all the Check-Mate templates and canned tests in Check-Mate for NX10.
I have run these tests and have also used Check-Mate at another company in the past.
Does a user need a Check-Mate Authoring license to create or modify Check-Mate tests?
Does a Check-Mate author need to know the Knowledge Fusion language?
Is a Check-Mate author expected to be a computer programmer, or a design engineer?
About how much time would it take a typical design engineer to learn enough of the language to be able to author some simple tests? I have a few years' experience as a software engineer, but that was primarily in Fortran almost two decades ago, so other than a little conceptual understanding, I don't know how much good that will do me today.
How much time would you expect it to take to author simple tests, such as whether the right categories are on the right layers, the right layers are selectable, the right types of objects are on certain layers, and the right views and reference sets exist?

I need help in knowing, how to do a parabolic fillet or also truncated fillet using NX 10.0. Kindly help me with the procedure.
I received a STEP file recently and also in the 2D draft it was mentioned like that. I don't know how to incorporate such radius in my modeling. I have attached some pictures for understanding them.

Error while replacing component by other revision in TC
A workmate receive an error message while trying to replace a component by other revision of the same item. I dont receive any error doing the same with the same items so I think is something in his customer defaults but I dont know what. The error is (my own translation):
Errors while loading:
C:users\...\Appdata\local\temp\NX_Nav_.plmxml - Bookmarks file doent contain any part to load.

Close a solid body by new surfaces
Hello to all,
I am pretty new with NX surfacing but I would like to do what I explained on the image bellow.
Is there any way to close this solid by these surfaces or I have to use Sew option which works only with Sheet bodies?

Bolt Circle Centerline through 2-points (180° apart)?
I have 2 holes that lie on a common bolt circle. The holes are 180° apart on the circle. Is there a way to create a bolt-circle centerline through these two points?
The options that I see are:
Through 3 or More Points (but we only have 2 points...)
Center Point
I can create a point, between the two hole centers, and then use the "Center Point" option - but the created point doesn't appear to be associatively linked to the two holes.
What is best-practice for creating a bolt-circle-ceterline through 2 holes that are located 180° apart on a common circle?

NX - Points coordinates in Draft table
Dear All,
does anyone of you have some useful journal / macro for listing point X, Y, Z coordinates to a table in draft file.
For e.g., you have a simple part (or assm) with few CSYS, and few points. In draft you want to list selected points coordinates (X,Y,Z) from selected CSYS. Another (more simple) alternative would be to list all points coordinates from an absolute coordinate system.
Unfortunately, I dont have experience with journaling and maybe some of you have something already done.
