Hi,

 

I want to create a parts list/bill of materials, but when i got to place a Parts List on a drawing, it doesnt list any components. The screenshot below is just an example: I have imported a model with 344 components, some of which you can see in the assembly navigator. However, they are grouped as a single part in the Parts List.

 

The same error appears with other drawings, except usually it shows no parts at all.

 

 

Something that may be significant is that all the models I have are converted from STP or IGES files. However, as they are now .prt files I wouldn't think that this would be the reason.

 

Can anyone help? I realise that more information may be needed; please let me know and I will tell you what I can.

Hello

I made a new section in assembly. Why sections are not visible in drafting ?

• Creating a base view and no "section" model views available ?
• It shows up in assembly as a section though ?

What are these assembly sections ?

If they do not show up in drafting ?

Hello Everyone,

 

There seems to be a change in High Quality Image exporting in NX 11. A command I had no problem with in NX10 doesn't work in NX11.

It says " This command is available when the NX_RTS_IRAY environment variable is set to 0, which turns off the new Iray+ renderer."

Anybody know what that means?

How to make proper measurements with "Analyse -> Simple Measurement" ?

• When I try to create a straight "drafting"-style measurement like in picture "BLUE".
• It will always create misaligned measurement like in picture "RED".

We curently use a Spreadsheet in a NX dwg file to make a hole chart on the drawing. Insert table, then insert spreadsheet. Points are set-up in the Modeling application using linked points.

 

In NX8.5 the formula in Excel was:

='C:\Program Files\Siemens\NX 8.5\UGII\ug.xla'!POINT("HOLE12") then CTRL/Shift/Enter to get Y location

 

When I changed for NX11:

='C:\Program Files\Siemens\NX 11.0\UGII\ug.xla'!POINT("HOLE12")

 

Excel changed formula to:

=POINT("HOLE12")

 

Was it intentional to lose all formatting for path location, and just leave Hole Point?????

I am looking for a simple effective way to morph a sheet body. Currently we use global shaping, creating a base, and than a control surface with the deviation requested by our customer. When we do the morph it messes up the zebra stripping (reflection lines). I am looking for a simpler way to get the change without messing up the reflection lines as badly.

The following error appear when I open UGPART (drafting) in NX 10.0.3

 

Bad size for allocation request in Storage Manager

+++ Licensing toolkit error -- code == -10011 [License Error, cannot return a license that was not checked out or the specified module is not currently checked out.]

 

NX hangs and I have to kill ugraf.exe process.

Hello,

 

I'm trying to draft a diaphragm, but during circular pattern of the vanes and their radius I keep getting the same error: "Referenced edge does not exist". This results in only the vanes itself being patterned, but not their radius.

 

 

 

The way I've set this up is:

1. Outer-ring revolve.

2. Inner-ring revolve.

3. Establish vane shape by using section-curve on STL file underlay.

4. Use this curve to extrude the vane on both rings (using "Until selected" conditions in extrude menu).

5. United the 3 parts

6. Used edge blend.

 

Am I overlooking something as to why the edge blend won't be included in the pattern?

• Will changing the origo change model's position in assembly ?

Hi Experts,

a costumer that managed large assemblies has been migrated from Nx7.5 with Tc 8.3 to Nx10.8.3 with TC11.2.1.

They notice that an Assembly Option in NX7.5 called Variant Configuration (when You open a part and want to know the Variants about this part)is not available in NX10.8.3 TC11.2.1integration .

Do You know about how to get same funcionality with new integration(NX10.8.3 TC11.2.1

Have You information about it?

Have You an example to show how to proceed?

Hi, I am trying to find, if there is a way to have my part navigator and assembly navigator always ON with no auto-shading or transparency when I am using it in seperate windows. Is there a way to disable it ? thanks

I wonder if is true that NX11 required an specific processor to run, i looked in the system specification and don`t mention anything about it, my company go to update to this version and possibly we must buy new

So I'm trying to figure out how to borrow a licence. I'm going into the Siemens PLM Software Licensing Tool....I click on what I want to borrow. Then when I go on my laptop I do not see anything in the Licensing Tool that I can borrow...what am I doing wrong here? How do I go from selecting what I want to borrow, to getting on my laptop and actually borrowing the license and havign it work?

When assigning a parameter to a dimension, I have two options:

 

A.  Rename the dimension.  For example, if I have dimension p1, change its name to, say, "rod_length" and maybe edit its value (50mm).

 

B. Define a new expression named "rod_length" with a length value of 50mm, then assign it to dimension p1.

 

Is one approach consider better than the other?  Approach A seems easier, but B may be a little cleaner and can be done ahead of time.  I'm working on a model in which I'll need to define several dozen parameters and wondering which way to go. Thanks!

I'm new to NX and am trying to understand how WAVE linked objects are oriented.

 

If I create a new part in an assembly and then create a WAVE link to, say, a curve or body in another part, when that curve or body is brought in to the new part, is it oriented relative to the work coordinate system of the new part?

 

I ask because I want to WAVE link to a sketch component in another part, but  I want to change how it's oriented in the new part.  So I'm wondering if reorienting the Datum in the new part would accomplish that.  Would it?
