How to use attribute management for same parts in A side and B side? Parts in side A have attribute MW_SIDE=A, parts in B side - MW_SIDE=B.

Some parts is on both side. How to solve? View manager does not work correct.

I was wondering if anyone has investigated the impact of setting the global modelling tolerance to a very small value like 0.001mm, specifically on model size and general NX performance?

 

Also does anyone have a rule of thumb for setting a sensible CAD modelling tolerance?

User would like to move the "Name" they assigned to an assy constraint, so that it is on the left side, and they don't have to have the pallett stretched so far across their screen.

hello, I am having some problems with render (NX10); I notice great difference between the Raytraced dynamic and the stationary real time preview; I set material, colors and everything, then if I change settings in the Scene Editor to improve the result (global illunination for instance), the colors become totally different, between the two types of preview, and the static image generated is not at all similar to what I am visualizing in the graphic windows. This makes it very hard to decide the settings... I attach an image

Hi.

Can anyone help me with the role function in NX 10? - Can it be true, that I can't export my role? I know that it has been possible in the past, but I can't find the command/function to export my Role in NX 10. I can't see in NX where the role file refer to now, soo I can't even find the .mtx file and just copy it...

Does anyone have any suggestions how to fix this error in drafting? We are using the Free 3 of 9 font in NX 9.0, but it doesn't work in all of my files. In some of them, it will show the barcode, and in others, it gives an error indicating "invalid font" in drafting. When it doesn't give the error, it will let me select the Free 3 of 9 font, but just doesn't actually change anything in the text and reverts right back to Arial Unicode font. The customer defaults are set to use both NX and standard fonts, so that's not the issue. It's especially unusual because the font will show when a coworker enters the font, but I can't update it on my system. I can, however, use the barcode font that is an NX system font. Our customer requires the Free 3 of 9 font. Help?

NX10.0.2.6 MP1 -> Modeling -> Model Views:

 

I have a recurring issue with Model Views being placed in my work layer while working in the Modeling environment.  I am unable to delete or rename these Model Views.  Has anyone had this issue and found a way to delete these views?

My measure angle command brings up the simple angle display.  In other words, I can't get the xy xz zy projected angles to display in the information window.  I've tried resetting my user to the preset NX choices... I've used command finder and i've checked the customized settings.  No matter how I launch measure angle... it instead gives me the simple angle command.  Help please.

Hello everyone,

 

I'm working with velocity values obtained from a PLC Siemens. How I can assign a int value to an actuator speed? For example 100 mm/sec to "POSICIÓN_X". I attached an image of settings that don't currently work as I want.

Dear,

 

I would like to mofidy my 'final' model according the needs of the moldmaker/producer of the product I'm modelling.

It's a kind of springbutton which is modelled in the theoretical shape, but mold maker would like to forsee some shrinkage compensation.

 

I'm able to do so by modifying the model, as from the start of the three, but I guess Global shaping can help me ? Isn't it ?

 

Attached you'll find a picture of the existing model with remarks of what it should be for mold making ?

(Firstly, I thought I posted earlier but cannot see it so if it suddenly appears I apologize in advance for double posting.)

 

The selection behavior changed and I cannot seem to find the preference anywhere, in session prefs or customer defaults.  The problem is when picking faces for analyzing distance or angles the behavior now is it sometime picks edges behind the face rather than the face but it used to pick the face first.  I haven't changed anything recent aside from installing mp05.  Can someone point me to the customer default for this?

Mainly for Siemens staff or anyone in the know...

Is the Simplify Assembly function still a mainstream utility for managing large assemblies in NX10?

Given other CAD systems (Creo, Solidworks, Catia, etc.) have lightweight and complexity reduction functions I still see they all utilize "enveloped" style components for use at the next assembly just as NX does with Simplify Assembly. So appears other CAD tools still find it a necessary function to have is that the future case for NX?

 

The way I see the Simplify Assembly function would be used is as follows:

1) Build complex component model with many parts

2) Create a linked Simplify Assembly feature which is stored in a special Reference Set with in the complete component assembly that hides all internals and gives an accurate external representation of the component (Lets call that reference set "Envelope")

3) Assemble said component at Next (Top) assembly.

4) Set Reference Set load order to have "Envelope" followed up with "Model" and so on...

5) When loading the Top Assembly it will load the Simplifed versions of the components using the Envelope reference sets.

 

Is this what is still envisioned using NX10 for extreme Large Assembly model management for reduced RAM pull and faster model load times, along with Lightweight representations?

 

Or is Siemens going away from the Simplify Assembly function?

Or is it worth using, as stated above, meaning does it save Load time and RAM pull?

Hi 

Is there any way to simulate servomotors in NX 10 Mechatronics Concept Designer / Siemens Simit environment ?

There is a variety of frequency converter simuklation options in Simit, but none for servomotors. ?

Hi guys,

 

When using part list on an assembly, it adds Callout attribute to component properties.

I also have sub assemblies under my main assembly which I created part list.

When I open this sub assembly and create a part list in that assembly these parts have different part numbers in it..

What I want is, when I create a part list in the top assembly, I want the Callout's to be pushed into all parts and sub assemblies, and when I create a part list under the sub assembly, I want to have the same numbers as the top assembly's numbers

Our aero department uses Star and NX, but not the integration add-in.  Some users get a window that pops up when they start NX, called "STAR-NX Info App", and they would like to disable it.  The window can't be closed, only minimized, and it's annoying them.

NX 9 and TC 10

 

I created an Expression in our model seed file, called "Engrave", and it is linked to the attribute DB_Part_Name.  Initially you can create some text, and link that text to "Engrave", and extrude into the part.

 

BUT, when you do a save as, and DB_Part_Name changes, the expression usually won't update, even after doing a 'Force Reload Attributes from Teamcenter'.

 

So what am I missing here?  I was hoping it would automatically update, and save typing it manually.

Does anyone know if it's possible to reestablish a broken link for a Promote Body at the assembly level? The body that created the Promote Body still exists but it appears the link was broken when the Arrangement that was active during the creation of the Promoted Body was deleted which caused the links to break.

 

When I try to redefine the Promoted Body the only option I get is to convert it to a linked body which then I can edit and redefine to the original referenced body, but now it's no longer a Promoted Body and I can't seem to find a way to convert it back into one.
