I needed to cut the target body with a tool, and decided to use the split body operation, but I got the error: "The tool and target do not form a complete intersection or have a touch condition which will result in a region with zero wall thickness". Then, I tried to make a intersection between the two bodies, and the intersection was completed successfully, which made me very confused.
Can anyone help me to find a solution for this problem?

Hello, With previous versions of NX, it seems like I could set my drafting preferences once for a drawing and then they kept as set. Now it seems like I have to keep setting the drafting preferences over and over. Any idea of what would be causing this? I've seen the different reports of how bug ridden 12.0.1.7 is so it's easy for me to assume that the ever increasing number of stupid things that I see is just because of 12.0.1.7, but I don't want to just think that if there's things I can fix. I've read, and been told by some Siemens reps, that we will be able to "roll back" from a newer version to an older version of NX. Now it's very possible that something was lost in translation, but we interpreted that to mean, if we install 1855, and discover a bug, we could roll back to 1847 or 1851, etc. But on my test machine, I don't see anything in the Control panel uninstall, or in the Siemens program list.
Did we misinterperet, and you still have to do a full uninstall/reinstall, and only the part file data is "roll back" capable?

Hello, I'm attempting to delete a view in a drawing, but it doesn't work. I get this pop-up window: "Encountered unexpected NULL pointer. See system log details."
What does that mean? I've never seen before where I can't delete a view. I don't think anything else is related to it. Thanks

Suppose I have a Drawing of an Assembly with 20 Parts. Main Views on Page 1 and Section Views on Page 2.
I also have a BOM Table on Page 1.
My quesiton is if I want to want to apply Bubble on Page 2, but I have a BOM Table on Page 1, how can I do that?
I hope someone can help me with sequence of command to accomplish this.

I have created some bodies using `Delete Face', Now i need to create a non parametric body from that `Delete Face' body,
`Delete Face' body is created by selecting the Inner face `Boss or Pocket Faces' and `All But Selected' option.
I have Right clicked and selectd `Extract Body Here'.
Application of this is this `Delete Face' command only workign inside the part level, not in Assembly level.
So for volume calculation of huge assembly the body created in the child part will be copied and where in a single shot we can calculate the volume.
Other wise for different different child parts we need to maintain a seperate excel file.

I have a small assembly that I wan't to use as the master for a part family.
When I open Part Families and in Available Columns select Components I can only see MODEL1(does not exist in the assembly) in the list and a component in ANT/graphic window high lights. No other components is listed and if I create the spreadsheet I can see the highlighting component in the column Model1. Normal all components is listed and I can add them to the spreadsheet.
What is going on with this assembly?

Once a "Simplify Assembly" operation has been performed, and the file saved and closed, is there any way to reverse the operation so I can access individual components again within the assembly?

Planning to do some training sessions, using learning advantage. I thought it would be nice to us the built in NX browser, but whenever I select a class to start, I get kicked back to the login page, and told my session expired.
Anyone done this? or is it just not possible with this browser?
Hi all
I have a body which was imported from a STEP file which I then fully dimensioned in the drafting application. This component was then modified slightly by an external person and I would like to replace my old body with this new one with the hope that I do not need to create new drawings in the drafting application as this takes a fair amount of time.
I can import my new body into the original file where I have my fully dimensioned draft drawing but I am struggling with the replace feature. I was hoping that I can replace my old body with the new one and NX would recognise that as a revision of the old body and all of my dimensions in drafting would be linked - except when something has changed where the dimension starts or finishes of course.
Is this possible or do I have to create new draft drawings every time there is a change (new STEP file from external supplier)?
Unfortunately I cannot provide any pictures or files as there is potentially sensitive data.

I have SolidWorks assembly contains cca 300 components. I need import all of them to the my NX modeling template. When I simply open the assembly, it is opened in the NX Blank template (without my attributes, settings, coordinate system, prepared reference sets...).
Using FILE - IMPORT - PART I can import only SolidWorks part, not assembly.
For STEP, IGES... translators is possible copy my modeling template file to the folder, where are configuration files for translators, but I cannot find any folder, related to the SolidWorks translator.
Does exist some way, how to import SolidWorks assembly into NX modeling template?

I am try to move and place the one drawing view (Say View A) near to other view (Say View B).
But Nx11 displaying a horizontal dotted line which is linked with other view (Say View B) and could not able to move the required distance for View A.
Still i could able to move the view (View A) but from the end of other view (View B) upto some distance i could not able to move the view A.
Any suggestions to overcome this issue.

the sketch is unresolved, but when I start the 'Relations browser' comand, there're not icons that help me to discover where is the problem.
I know where is the problem, because I've simulated the situation, but if I'm not the user that had created the sketch, this command is not so explicit to help users to discover the problem/s.
