i am looking for how i can turn off the default settings for "Scatter compoenets" in Add Components" which is a newly added feature from NX 12?
i have already unchecked the box in the "customer defaults" for Scatter but nothing is working.....request please advise how can solve this issue.

I am not sure whether below requests are already addressed, incase not request someone to raise ER as I don't have immediate access to GTAC, and it is ardous procedure to log one for me.
1. Reference set of an assembly can be easily highlighted and shows the component names in the information window as well as ANT.
However, for pieceparts, when we select any reference set, graphic window highlights entities but not the part navigator nor information window. Information window simply cites number of bodies, not the feature names. It may be for the ease of architecture, but if it is possible, enhancement will help in model investigations.
2.In Drafting, the interrupt command (in NX we call it gap) order of 'edit component' (default) be shuffled: see attachment
3. In sketch, there is no intersection point for dimensioning (when not using Auto constrain). Workaround is create a point which lies on curve extensions. I know we should desist using fillets in sketches but incase needed.
These are merely some suggestions noted during my experience with NX and my work is not hindered at the moment.

If I need to produce models and drawings of each stage of machining for a single component, what would be a good workflow in NX?
I would probably have the finish model design to start with. I have use both a de-featuring workflow and a linked part file workflow in other systems.
I would like all the operations to be associative so if I change OP2 it is reflected in all subsequent operations.
My first thought was to use an assembly and theWAVE linker.
Anyone have a successful workflow they would like to share?
This video shows how Beckhoff TwinCAT and NX MCD can be connected directly based on the solution PLCConnect by iSILOG / EDAG PS. The advantage of this solution is that signals can be browsed directly from NX MCD. No OPC Server is needed with the need of defining manually all signals. Because of the direct integration the cycle time is very low (up to 1ms). TwinCAT can also be used to replace Simit as the behavior modeler. This makes sense for users which are not using Siemens PLCs.

Im trying to reverse engineer an airfoil and I was wondering if there is any way to optimize the shape of a spline to best-fit to data points while maintaining curvature smoothness? i.e. ideally the curvature combs only flow in one direction. I could just fit the spline control points to the data points but then Im introducing error from reverse engineering etc. and I will end up having a jagged/wavy spline.

I'm working in an assembly and I want to open a component in that assembly, but I can't figure out how. I have a large assembly which was opened from a .stp file. All the components are in the same folder, and I've confirmed that those components ARE the same ones that are in the assembly. I right-click on a component in the model tree, and I get an option to open>completely, but this doesn't seem to do anything. Additionally, the assembly and all the components in the model tree have red check marks beside them, which is disconcerting....
I'm coming from Inventor and SolidWorks, and seem to treat Drawings, Assemblies and Parts differently than NX does. Is there a way to open a drawing and its reference model at the same time? I've been having to shut down a model to open the drawing of that part, this seems cumbersome.

I'm currently using NX11 and I'd like to be able to pull data from lists that are driven by a master list based on component numbers. Only problem is that our components have both letters and numbers and therefore are strings.
The only thing I can think to do for now is possibly truncate the letters out and convert the remaining numbers to actual numbers. However, there's always the possibility that we get like numbers as the truncated letters would have been what differentiated them.
example:
{"AB123" , "CD456" , "EF123" , etc}
Any help is appreciated

When exporting to pdf a sectioned view the parts that are selected to not be sectioned appear without color? How can I solve this. Beside the color of the parts in the pdf doesnt looks exactly the same than the color on the drawing .prt file.
I am trying to trigger a source event based on a flag in PLCsim advanced. I only want a single object created each time the flag turns on. I have tried programming the flag as been on for a single scan in PLCsim and have ticked the Use Time Synchronization option in MCD. However sometimes no objects and sometimes multiple objects appear each time I turn on the bit in the PLC. What is the best way to achieve the objective of a single object appearing at the source when a PLC bit turns on?
I noticed through task manager that the bulk of the displaying work is being done with my CPU, not my GPU.
Can the (expensive) Nvidia Quadro P5000 hardware do more?

I am working on a heat exchanger very simple with a tube and shell. I've designed the tube with tube sweep command and then added a plane to revolve the shell body.
However I cant remove the intersection of the tube over the shell. I already tryed to use trim sheet and the target is not enabled and also the tool trim body but again not succeced. Could anyone explain me how should I proceed.

What is the main difference between Through Curves and Ruled commands? It seems that you can do all you want with through curves. Except you can select a point as first section string in Ruled command.
