I have some assemblies where sheet parts cover other components, when I zoom out to see the whole machine, I can see the lines of the components that are behind the metal sheet ones. If I do zoom in the visualization is correct. How can I avoid the visualization error when zooming out? Thanks

NX 12 Design Features labeled (Legacy)
Hi experts
I migrated from NX8.5 to NX12 and I am wondering to find standard design features (e.g. Boss, Pad, Pocket, etc) labeled as (Legacy); see Customize --> Commands --> Categories --> Design Feature
What does this mean. Am I supposed to use different features rather?

NX import list. Why it jumps to start when I select standard part ?

Import Assembly into Teamcenter.
In NX 11.0.2 import list.
Why it jumps to the start of the list always when I select an item type existing standard part (=choose existing item from TC ) ?
- When I'm in the middle of a large 800 parts list and it suddenly jumps to the start of the list with these standard parts. It is very time consuming to scroll back to the same place on the list and I lose focus on the work. :-(
Any fix coming soon ? This must be a bug.

Block Command - Set default to use WCS
I have been a user of UG/NX since 1997, with some intermittent breaks throughout the years. I remember, at least I think correctly, that it used to be that the block command would only use where you have placed your WCS. Due to the way I use NX, which is for modelling Ergonomic assist device tooling, I 99.9% of the time have my WCS at the origin and orientation of which I want the block, and have to select the origin point, switch the drop down from "absolute" to "wcs" hit the refresh button at the top to get the coordinates to 0,0,0, then I can place my block. Is there a way to make it like the old way, where it will defulat to 0,0,0 of my current WCS? Sometimes this happens, where it already selected my wcs 0,0,0, but it is rare, and I think only when I started a new file, and perhaps the wcs is already at absolute, not quite sure.

Apply force tangent to a circle in multiple points

I am studying a circular beam and I would like to put 72 constant tangent forces to the circle. In addition, I want to clamp the circle at 12 specific points. But I don't know how to select these specific points.
Does someone know how to do that ?

Balloon size must be larger than 0
When in drafting I try to use a balloon with arrow and get this error. I checked preferences and it is set to 14. What is up with that? LOL

STL Data to Brep Data
Hello Everyone,
I am working on taking a simulated warp model (stl) and reverse engineering it into a workable model for mold design. I am getting by with the work flow I have, however, this approach of making surfaces from intersecting curves of the STL is very time consuming.
Is there any modules of NX that will help me to turn STL data into Brep data? Currently we have the normal modeling license. I am currently using NX9 but we are soon making the move to NX 12.

Upgrading from NX10 to NX11
I'm currently running NX10 but would like to upgrade to NX11 (not 12) at this point. I'm new to NX and have never done an upgrade. So I have a couple of basic questions:
1. Where do I download the installer file from? I went to the download site (https://download.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com/) but NX is not listed. Is it kept somewhere else?
2. Is there a recommended process for doing this? For example, I need to uninstall NX10 first?

Routing Harness: missing connections
Hi people,
again, I am no expert in routing, not even moderate... but a customer has reported something strange that I just can't figure out.
When updating a harness assembly in NX 9 with over a couple hundred connections, the connections break and in some cases disappear all together.
It happens randomly with different connections so I can't say that a certain component might be corrupt causing such errors. Strangely, this doesn't ever happen with smaller assemblies.
Does anyone know a possible reason for this behavior and if there is a way to restore all broken and/or missing connections easily?

NX MCD 12 Three Joint Coupler force issue
At the moment i´m trying to simulate a 2D roll-picker.
To get the required linear movements of the axes, I implemented two Three Joint Couplers, which calculate these movements out of the positions given by the two rotary actuators.
The movement for the axes is calculated with no problem, but it would be nice to get the resulting, required forces at the rotary actuator.
It seems like the Three Joint Coupler is not capable of doning this.
I already tried to calculate the resulting force back to the rotary PositionControls, but these additional applied forces lead to undefined behaviour of the Speed Controller.

How to get nearest element from List expression
Hi All,
I am trying to find the nearest number element from the given list of numbers. Imagine there are two expression1 and expression2 with data as mentioned below, the outcome I am expecting as expression3
Example:
expression1 = 140; (number type)
expression2 = {20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 80, 100, 125, 150, 200, 300, 500, 750, 1000} ; (list type)
expression3= 150 (number type)
It will be added value, if we can choose direction like floor, round and ceiling, so that I can pick 125, 150 looking forward for kind support.
Solution in NX8.5 and higher is OK.

Item name as component name
In our environment Item-name is always unique and we want to have that as component name. By default NX takes item_id as component name. Do we have some options to override it? so that it takes item-Name as component name. requirement is illustrated below.

NX12 UI collapse behaviour
I am wondering why a ribbon group collapses. And, more importantly, how to influence the behaviour. I used an existing ribbbon group as an example: rbn_window.grb. Flow layout is switched on.
If it is on the right side of the tab it collapes when the toolbar gets smaller, if the group is moved more to the left is doesn't collapse. This is just used as an example. I actually want to use the fullscreen interface. Although there is plenty of room on my screen, somehow the tab has some collapsed groups in it. On the right side, so my guess is that NX thinks it has shown enough icons and will hide a few for me.
The whole point for me of customizing the UI and using the fullscreen interface is to minimize mouse travel and clicks. So I don't want any collapsed groups or galleries. Just, ALT for a tab, CTRL-SHIFT for radial popups and the view shortcut toolbar and all commands on these items directly accessible with one mouseclick.

Selection tool in modeling
Dear All,
Since I work with NX (about 10 years) I have had this problem. Why does the selection tool not work like it should work?
When I want to select components which are inside the selection box it also selects components which are partly inside the box. And when I use crossing it does not select all the components that are crossing the box.
I also use the setting "no selection filter" and "entire assembly".
I find it always a lot of work to make good selections although it should be able to do it quickly if this function works properly. Really anoying.
