I want to add part with some notes on one face to assemby, but when I try to do that I loose all notes on this face. Someone has similiar problem? What could be reason? In attachment I sensd some screenshots to better understand probleM.

In the section for "NX Optimize" you can find the KF-Functions for different optimization algorithms.
Here is the question: Does anybody know how to use them in expressions? Can anybody show some examples?

NX is currently acting more sluggish, so I'm wanting to see if anything can be done to speed it up. I'm supposed to be getting a new computer, so I don't want to consider hardware changes or anything like that. Would it be helpful for me to uninstall NX and re-install it or is there something less drastic that can be done?
I notice it especially being slow when I have coordinate systems and other datums displayed in an assembly. I wasn't sure if this was just typical for NX or if there is a problem.
I try to run "ccleaner" when my computer is acting slow. I had also seen from this site, or another, that NX doesn't do well with RAM, so it was recommended to close NX and restart the computer daily; so I have been doing that as well. Thanks

Hi guys can anyone help with an electrical routing issue I’m having.
I am doing some electrical routing and am trying to make the addition of Insulated crimp rings (small rings you crimp to the end of a cable and then screw down to make the connection) into the harness assembly a little less time intensive. These crimp rings and installed at various angles (sometimes bent to 90degrees 30 degrees, flat...etc). Regardless of the angle, the crimp rings are all the same. So what I have been trying to do is create a deformable crimp ring for electrical harness purpose.
So far what I have managed to do is create a deformable crimp ring (this works fine), what I’m struggling with is the addition of the fixing ports. When I add the ports (during part qualification) into the peace part and make changes within the peace part it all works fine…e.g. when I change the deformation parameters the model updates as I would expect and the ports realign as I would expect.
However, when I insert the component into a harness using either the assembly add component or through electrical routing (think it’s called part add or issue) the deformation aspect works fine but the ports stay in their original positions.
When qualifying a part (creating the ports) I select associative objects (either part of the model or a point in a sketch), and the whole things works fine in the peace part. But when I add it to the harness the ports do not move.
Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone come across this and found a resolution? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Hello, I have .jt file of a tank and would like to convert it into a format which Creo can open and save. I tried saving it as NX .prt file and open it in Creo but "this part cannot be retrived" message pops up. Is there any other solution for this?

I'm facing an error for adding standard parts that I search from Teamcenter database into an assembly. The error massage was "Error - object does not exist."
But if I open the same standard part in single part file first then I'm able to add the standard into my assembly.
Need some idea on how to solve this. Below is the part from log file when the error occur.

We have installed NX12 but still coexist with NX11. In windows environment when opening a prt file it launch NX12 but in TC in launch NX11. How we can change the default NX for Teamcenter? Thanks.

I got an assembly with some drafted sheets and parts in the assembly with their own drafts (meaning if you open as displayed part and go to drafting you get a new sheet there). I want to know if there is an easy way to export multiple sheets into one PDF across parts.
So I would like one PDF containing drafts of everything I want, without having to manually export each part to pdf and then using a program to merge them all.

here all datasets in Teamcenter are named with a prefix e.g. RB6_MSExcel (RB6_Item, RB6_ItemID, ...).
If I will import values of an excel file from Teamcenter (e.g. for expressions) NX did not show the RB6_MSExcel because NX expects a dataset MSExcel (without our special prefix).
Is there a possibility to map it, or a preference in Teamcenter to solve it?

I am selecting a quick measure of weight under measure bodies , i select one body and get
Weight = 33.22022386745 lbf
What units are 1bf? (I just want to see lbs)
Where is the best place to change the density to another material like wood? (can i do this on the fly or must use customer defaults and log out and in again )
Can I set up a cell in a PMI Table to have the attribute of the weight, I have seen some info for drafting out there?
I assume if i have multi bodies I would just tally up the cells for total weight?

I've been using NX no problem then today it won't even let me open a new model.prt file. It just stalls. even old sessions won't open. They get to 55% loaded then everything stops. Any ideas?

I'm wondering if it is possible to create a formboard drawing of a harness which hasn't had it's connectors, wires and pins defined and automatically routed.
I have experience fully defining the harness and creating the formboard which is fine but I'm keen to find out if it is possible by just defining the path (spline path) and stock.
I don't believe it is but wanted to ensure I wasn't missing something.

How can I make a drawing in NX that have everything black and white, no other color?
For example, I add a section view, it is brown. ordination dimention are blue. Line are blue. please see pic.
Is there settings/preference I can change to make everything black, no color.
I’m hoping I might get a poll from folks on this forum on the idea of Parasolid exports containing assembly structure. Siemens really only measures NX needs/wants based on IR generation, so the wants of NX users is probably not effectively captured if only IR’s are looked at.
Currently NX is the only major CAD tool that does not provide Parasolid exports with an assembly structure (flat file formats only).
Creo, Solidworks, CATIA, SpaceClaim, and even Siemen’s SolidEdge all provide Parasolid export with the option to include the assembly structure.
Who here would like to have NX also provide this Parasolid functionality (Parasolid with Assembly structure)?

we are using Siemens NX11 and trying to set up a workflow where flat fabrics are automatically created from a 3D surface.
NX has a very useful feature called "fabric flat pattern". However, the feature is not saved in the feature tree. So, every time the underlying geometry changes, the fabric flat pattern feature has to be re-executed manually.
Here is my question: What is your suggested "best practice" to automate the process of fabric creation for surfaces that are slightly varied? Journal scripting? Programming in NXOpen? Different PLM product like fiber sim?
