Motion simulation of multi-degree of freedom mechanism

Hello all,

I have a mechanism shown in the following picture.

Capture.PNG

Basically, it entails a fixed spring that holds the blue rod to be in contact with 4 fixed balls. Consider one pushes the red ball at the end along the direction shown by the arrow in the picture. If the pushing force is great enough, the blue rod will rotate around the ball support on the right hand side, and will leave the contact of the left hand side ball-pair.

The rotating result is similar to the following (with spring omitted).

Since different directions of the external force acting on the grey ball will give us different motion results, due to the fact that the mechanism has multiple degrees of freedom, is it possible to simulate the mechanism?

Thank you for the help.

Sincerely,

Stephen
