Assign material to part without body
Is it possible to assign material to part without solid body?
There are some cases when we have parts which dont have solid body and we need to have material attribute for them seems like GLUE or MASTIC.

Making a faceted part
Hello,
I am designing a faceted head for a project. But first I'd like to know what the best way is to handle this in NX 11 since I want to 3D print it. My first idea was to just make datum planes on the right spots and extrude the faces but that seems like a lot of work for this. Is there another, easier way to become something like this? Maybe just extruding the rough shape and substract piece by piece out of it?
I attached some sketches from what I would like to have. Any tips or tricks are appreciated!

.POD file not displaying in NX 11
Hello All,
I am trying to import a point cloud into NX however there is no display. I have have used the fit command to confirm the file is centered and went through the show/hidden tabs to make sure the view is enabled.
I am selecting the Reference Point Cloud
Then I select the file I wish to import.
Then after clicking load points now and clicking ok, you can see the model has been loaded from the part navigator but nothing was displayed.
I think I need to enamble some feature but I can't seem to find where.

Curve names in NX11 sketcher
Is there a customer default or setting that turns curve names on in Sketcher? The Relationship Browser lists the curves by name, but that seems a bit useless if the curve names do not appear on the screen.

newbe to NX setting defaults
I'm new to NX (just a few days) I have used Solid works for many years. My questions is how to set the singal arrow when dimension a diameter. I figred out how to chage one dimension at a time but I want to set my defaults. Thanks in advance.

Bug or a feature: can't save deleted file.
A file is deleted, while it was open in NX9, native.
save doesn't work
save as doesn't work
Eport to another part works only with removing all paramters.
Any suggestions are higly appreciated.
I saw this issue going back about 10 years to NX5.
P.S. I don't see any justification for such feature.

Quick way to now if there is a later revision of all components of an assembly in NX managed by TC
Is there a way to do that working in precise assemblies? I dont want to charge the latest revision for all components just check if there is later revision that the ones currently being used in that assembly so I can decide if replace or not.

Copy, Paste, Break Link of parts in an Assembly (Model Side ) and lock view in ( Draw Mode )
Greetings Y'all, Newbie here!! I've been running Catia the past twenty yrs and i'm new the the NX world. My question is,- I'm running NX9 and cannot find a way to create multiple copys of a single part without it be associated with original part. i would like to copy, paste and break link to the original created part. Also on the Draw side, I would like remove some parts off an assembly drawing view which i can do but i would like to lock this view so an update would not affect the view. How is this done without layering and such?

NX 'Reattatch Sketch' button is greyed out?
Just getting to grips with NX11. My issue is with re-positioning a Sketch. I'm used to the 'Make Datums external' which was very usefuls, however when I came to the new function of 'Reattatch Skecth' is greyed out for some reason.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Currently on NX11.0.0.33 release.

Why is it that after NX11 you are removing "Show/Remove Constraints"?

Trim function disabled in NX11
Anyone else try to trim curve in drafting and it no longer is allowed?
In my job we go to the views and add basic curves to make outer profiles around a compoenent for shop processing needs, and now I can no loner use the trim command.
First of, why remove this ability?
Second, is there a NEW command I need to find to do this?
My Biggest pet peeve/complaint with NX is the constant removal(and/or move) of commands in the massive maze of commands.

Thicken on a Global Shaped surface
Is it possible to use the Thicken command on a surface that has been modified with Global Shaping? I can apply thicknen to the original surface. I have no with radical changes of curvature between the original and final shaped surfaces. I am currently using 8.5, but I can use 11 if needed. Any suggestions?
The error I am getting is "Cannot offset face. The offset distance might be greater than the radius of curvature of the face or the offset face might intersect itself."

Die Design problem while trying to generate stamping die.
Hello everyone! I need your help ASAP!! I want to make a stamping die from a mesh (that i have convert to surface). Everytime i draw the aprropriate punch, blank and flange profile, i specify base orientation and i press ok in order to excecute the process. My problem is that after doing all that procedure, the die dont be generated and i can't figure out the reason why because there isn't any warning pop up to show me that i am doing something wrong. Did anyone have the same problem?

'Send to Package File' error
Hello!
I am getting 'Internal error: memory access violation' consistently for 'Send to Package File' command on NX 11.0.2.7 MP2.
However, on the same machine, it works fine with NX 10.0.3.5 MP19.
Thinking to report this issue to GTAC. Just want to check if this is version specific issue. It would be nice if someone help to check this command on NX 11.0.2.7 MP2.
