Hi all
NX open stp assembly drawing assembly without thumbnails. What is the reason for this?
hello guys,
I have few questions how the edge tolerance is decided for the feature which is being obtained after series of operations.
For instance, I have a sketch, which is used for trim sheet (tolerance is set to 0.0005 in trim sheet UI). after performing it, I'm thickening the sheet (tolerance is set to 0.0001 in trim sheet UI).
I was hoping the tolerance of the resultant feature would be 0.0006 (Cumulative tolerance), instead the information window had shown the result as 0.00055.
Could anyone explain the methodolody behind this calculation. (When series of operations are used)
thanks in advance

Hi all,
My co-worker is creating some sketches. As he creates lines and arcs they are auto constrained as expected. But after some time he is seeing that they no longer do so. For example when a fillet is created arc ends no longer have co-incident constraint applied to them. At this stage if we right click on the sketch and select Sketch settings "Create inferred constraints" and "Continuos auto dimensioning" are unchecked. Infact these were checked when sketch was created. Trying to chekc it back fives an alert like shown in the attached screen shot. Sketch is having few lines and arcs. Nothing much that can be considered as large.
My question is what is considered as a large sketch? and is there any way to turn this behavior off. This was working perfectly in 11.01,but we are seeing this after updating to 11.02.
Regards
Nagesh
The components and components of the assembly are linked via WAVE, and why the link level is incorrect. Can not link. Ask for help.
Just a general question about the use of this forum.
What am I supposed to put in the "Message Tags" box?
My compnay has gives flexibility of nodelocked licenses to users, since many work off netwrok/VPN from vendor location.
These users also have option to connect to flaoting licenses, when they work from office using a Desktop. so basically each user has more than one license allocated (one node locked. one floating)
during course of time we have more than 40 nodelcoked licenses spread between many users and have 40 floating licenses for same usersand PC users.
any experience if experts can share is apprciated.
I'm looking for a reliable way to create a Part from an Assembly.
For context: Many downloaded vendor files come into NX as assemblies, sometimes with many parts. To avoid keeping copies of all these part files it is most convenient to convert each of the parts into a "dumb solid" within a single part file.
I've found that with some of these assemblies I can export to an IGES or STEP file, then import that file to get this result. Often though, the resulting file either retains each part as a separate file, or the entire assembly is nothing but "dumb" surface bodies.
Has anyone discovered a method to reliably convert assemblies into parts made up of solids?
Today I opened an project and made one of the subassemblies as a “Displayed Part”. It brought me in to Drafting environment. There were some dandling dimensions which I fixed and then I printed it for the shopfloor.
Later I was told the print doesn’t match the physical assembly but the drawing title details. Then I found out it was the previous similar design (Clone) in the print with current project details (Attrributes driven). The Draft is updated only after I manually update the sheet/views. I was surprised that it allowed without any hesitation for me to work with non-existing model objects. It even allows to save and/or export outdated/wrong details in different formats!
I’m wondering why NX allows this and isn’t this a dangerous situation? What is the benefit of showing wrong details in the draft with “Out of Date” note at a corner?
We are thinking about purchasing a 3D printer. It wont be an industrial machine but we want it to be about 400x400mm, hot table... so maybe something intermediate. We would probably use Cura or a similar free software, but just in case I would like to choose a printer that can be used by NX. Is there a list of printers or brands supported by NX?
Sometimes we design an assembly then create dimesions in the drawing of the assembly and one of our suppliers manufacture the whole assembly (mainly it is composed by of the self components).
I want to structure it properly in NX with TC.
I am thinking about create an assembly for making the drawing and then a subassembly containing the components and in the atributtes of this subassembly write PLIST_IGNORE_MEMBER=YES. I hope this erase from structure this second subassembly and its components. Do you think this is a proper way?
Thank you
I'm try to create a diameter dimension in a sketch that I will use for a revolve extrude. I can't seem to find away to do this I know I can create a dimension and use expressions but would like not to do that. I attached a pic to clarify what my intent is.
Thanks
I am getting this error for a node lock license. It worked after a few times but again facing the same issue.
Hello all,,
One of my client has a customized NX and he has importing and exporting parts from the common server where connected to auto map drive is made for one user PC. It is taking a lot of time for opening and closing of NX and suddenly without any error NX stops working and gets shut down without any error.
What might be the solution for this customized one?
Any suggestions!
If I modelled a thread (say on a hole) using "thread" function, is it possible that NX will automatically will draw/show it on drawing according to the drawing standards, i.e. with a 3/4 circle (or dashed circle) around the solid circle? I could't find any automatic option for thread symbols on drafting...
We have 48 Unigraphics licenses in our office. And the licenses are distributed in 6 servers. If we have to check the license usage, we are running LM Tools in each server. Is there any way to check the uasage of all the 48 licenses from one place?
Thanks!

Hello all,
One of my user is facing an issue they have connected to auto map drive but when ever they open nx auto map drive folder is creating as an shortcut and after closing it'll close and it is taking a lot of time while opening assembly files
any suggestions????
Hello all,
one of my user is facing an issue.
When working with assemblies he's trying to open it but it is taking time to load for 2 mintues and then it will start searching for the files and the file size is around 4-5MB. And he's accessing the files from Server level. There are around 10PCs but only in one PC they are facing this kind of issue. Similiar there is another PC which is having less config than below mentioned in that particular PC everything's working fine.
Ram 32gb
Graphics : NVDIA QUADRO M2000
DELL
What might be the issue?? Any suggestions???
I'd like to import dwg data into NX11 as actual, usable sketch entities, or at least as entities from which usable sketch entities can be produced. With the methods I've seen discussed so far in this forum, the data comes in only as curves floating in space, apparently unrecognizable even by the Project Curve command. The imported data is apparently of no use at all in creating 3D geometry.
Is anyone aware of a method for making usable sketch entities from imported dwg/dxf data?
