Hello
In a circular product, i am taking section and revolving to a common plane by using central axis.
Instead is there any option to project in a circular path which will avoid the revolve command and Section.
thanks in advance

Hi,
I open our assembly with the best performance possible, lightweight and partial loading, but when I assign material rendering, NX load my part fully. It's absurd. All rendering software in the world can operate with faceted surfaced.
Before add material
After add material rendering
Hello All,
So it has been over one year that i have been struggling with this machine that was purchased for me by my employer. It is the top of the line offering from our tech-support company Mantech. It cost nearly $10k, it is a Dell Precision 7920 Tower, with an upgraded SSD harddrive.
Now i am a mechanical/aerospace engineer, not a computer engineer, nor a networking engineer, nor a server engineer, but something very wrong has been going on for the last year and techsupport keeps pointing fingers at different tech-support-groups and for the last year i have been tossed around between techs with everyone blaming everyone else and no one really getting anything fixed.
My problem: I am loading, on a regular basis, or need to anyway, very large models. Think full spacecraft models where the spacecraft envelope is 16' in diameter, 25' tall, and has thousands of parts. I also need to open facility models, buildings on lab that are large dimensionally, but generally don't have many components/parts.
My computer, for some reason, is insanely slow to load models. I am on an ethernet connection, hardwired to the wall. I can pull nearly a Gbps from the internet (www) but when it comes to loading these models from our teamcenter servers into a TC managed NX11 session, my task manager / performance monitor, is telling me i am rarely getting 10's of kbps. Occasionally it will spike to 10's of Mpbs, but in between these spikes, the recieve rates are reporting a solid zero bps for multiple seconds between sad little spikes of kbps.
I use a single medium sized sub-assembly (a fraction of what i need to use on a regular basis) as the baseline standard to assess load times accross different machines/configurations. It is approximately a 1m^3 box, with 2 dozen electronics boxes inside of it, each with probably 100-200 fasteners.
Others at my institution, in other buildings, can load these same models in 5-6minutes. For me it can take upwards of 50-60 minutes.
Others in my building can load these same models via Wifi on their laptops in about 10-12 minutes.
When a wifi-USB-dongle was plugged into my machine, i was able to load these models in about 10-12 minutes.
The slowness is intermittent at times. Sometimes it works decently for days, and then i'll go days or weeks where it is total junk.
Possible conjecture: a few months ago, one of the tech guys thought it might be my graphics drivers that need to be updated. Some of the times when he updated the NVIDIA graphics drivers, it would load the model in question in the 6minute range. The next day, i'd be back to slow again, but then update graphics, and it'd be fast again. I don't know if this works anymore, i haven't tried it in a while. But the intermittency of it made me think this effect is all in my head.
So, here is what i would like from the community:
1. Recommendations on things to try/check out and report back about.
2. Recommendations on a new machine. Think $10-$15K is the cost limit. I need to know every nitty gritty detail of the build so i can hand it to my supervisors and tech team and say "buy this" and there will be no doubt that a hardware or software or performance configuration/capacity/capability of the desk machine is the problem.
Thank you all so much for your help.
Hello experts,
I created a Requirement inside the Measure command, the result is then available now as a Check (rib width should be smaller than 6 mm as part of a Reusable Feature / Reuse Library) - so far it works.
I am still in the Reuse File and increase the rib width to 8 mm the check shows the problem, means it works.
If I save and close the Reuse File and reuse this approach as a reusable feature then the Check content (Requirement) has los the connection to the measurement / expression.
Any ideas what the problem could be? Same Problem with NX12 and NX1847.
Thanks
Silvo
Hi everyone,
I have created a new part and I need to create a flat pattern into the specification model.
First of all I made a spiral that I extruded and I was able to unbend it during the construction (using SB Resize neutral factor 0.44)
Here you can see the structure of my part.
The second picture shows the final result in the example I have to reproduce. They were able to create a flat pattern for a similar part. The strange thing is that if I delete the flat pattern and I try to create it myself I get the same error (which proves that the error is not in the part, but in the procedure of creating the flat pattern in this case)
Any ideas, please?
Thank you
Hello
I heard Nx 11 cannot be installed with windows 32 bit (Windows 8.1 Pro) we need 64 bit.
Is there any way to install Nx 11 and work with Nx 11 in 32 bit Windows Operating System.
thanks in advance

Hello Everyone,
I want to see borders that belong to rectangle detail view when I print or export a drawing file. It is okay when I tried to export circular detail view but I could't find the right settings for rectangle detail view. There are some pictures below for giving you more details. How can I print rectangle detail view's border? Thanks in advance.
Sincerely.
(Note: Results are same for NX (1851) and NX 12, I tried both.)Rectangle Detail View

Hi Siemens PLM team,
Why NX rendering engine doesn't support workstation GPU ?
All rendering software use GPU.
Hi there,
I've been struggling with this for days... I am trying to make some part of the Machinery Library work with the Fastener Assembly Configuration tool in TC environment.
I am able to generate the library with the Machinery Library batch tool, and I am able to access the library perfectly in NX, but for some reason I don't have any Fastener Assembly Configuration avalaible.
Actually I know I need to tell NX where the .krx files are but I don't know how to do that. Default fields in Customer Defaults>>Reuse Library>>Fastener Configuration are filled with "@DB/00003/A" and "@DB/00004/A" which does not seem to exist (see attached image).
In native mode, everything is olcated by default in $UGII_BASE_DIR/nxparts/Reuse Library/Configure/
I didn't found any information in the "Best Practice to Customize Fastener Assembly" document either. Where should I put .krx files and how can I let know NX where to find them ? Right now, NX is still looking for the fastener configuration files in %appdata%\local\Siemens\NX120, althought I specified to use TC mode.
Thanks for any help

Hi All,
Anyone having idea on instanced extrude?
If so, Please let me know how it differs from normal extrude.

Hi everyone
Sometimes in my work I need to hide/show specific object many many times. Using normal show and hide commands it takes many clicks and time.
For example when I am doing reverse engineering I need to hide/show a specific facet body thousand of times. Is it possible to define a shortcut key to hide and show only one object?
Dear All,
iam using nx 10 version. i need to create sketch with with diffrent line widths like some lines with 0.25mm thick and some with 1mm thick. i tried some tools using youtube videos but not helped.
please guide me.
How can I measure the weight of multiple bodies with the new consolidated NX measure?
Our designers complain that you could simply drag a window over some bodies to get the weight with the old measure body command.
That’s not possible with the new measure and I don’t even know how to create a single weight measurement of multible bodies.
Does someone know how/if this works with the new measurement?
Thanks
Please help my memory...
is it possible to create a section view, and section "the selected components" only,
instead of section all minus all the components that are selected as "non -sectioned" ?
I.e imagine a electronic device , an outer casing and a myriad of details inside:
I would like to create a section view which only cuts the outer casing and leaves the inner details non-sectioned.
I found that when creating a section, i can "step to" the "non-sectioned" area of the dialog, select all ( Ctrl+A) then de-select the outer casing. This works.
Is there a simpler method ?
regards,
Tomas
Unfortunately, I still have to deal with NX - 12.0.1.7 until Q2. I encountered a new error after trying to deal with other flaky assembly constraint behavior. This time, I tried to just delete a component pattern and I got this message: "UDPATE/DELET has gone through too many iterations." Is this just a 12.0.1.7 that I have to fight until we can finally get rid of 12.0.1.7 and go to a different maintenance pack or is this something else?
I'm working with arrangements and component patterns. Is it possible that this is just to complex for NX or is this a 12.0.1.7 thing? I can't tell. Similar type operations that I could do effortlessly 10 years ago with CREO are causing NX to freak out. Hopefully this is just another buggy junk behavor with 12.0.1.7 and not just NX overall. I'll probably end up killing this session of NX and waste work that I've done and see if it's any better next time.
Any recommendations for dealing with the side effects of having to use 12.0.1.7? Q2 can't get here fast enough....
I have drawing with multiple(12) view. I have brought one component in assembly which i just want to show on one view and hide from all.
one method is to use hiddencomponent command for each view. but it is talking hell lot of time
what is the quickest method?
Dealing with a piece of Nikon inspection equipment.
They say we need to export a dxf this way: "The DXF must be exploded and in R12-ASCII format"
Any idea what settings are required in NX to achieve that?
Note we are using NX10.0.3.5 MP16
Hello
If we are exporting the section curve drawings as PDF's if ellipse present then the irregular jagged curve is coming instead of smooth curves. Currently we are replacing manually by using Splines.
If is there any way to set options as avoding the autogeneration of ellipse, instead Spline can be generated.
thanks in advance

Hello,
I have a few hole tables in a drafting view. I altered the position of a few holes in an unrelated table, and all the other hole tables now have dashed lines? Anyone know what this means? They were from a completely different set of holes unaffected by my changes. Why would these be stuck with dashed lines now. I tried updating the geometry/views, even clearing all warning and alerts. Help docs didn't show me anything, although I may not have been searching for the correct terms.
Thanks to anyone that can help.
Hello Friends
In a assembly if 10 parts is there (Say A to J) then i need to `Extract Curve' for only one part Say A. Here i cannot use the `Make Work Part' since the curves will sit in the file of Part A, not in the Assembly File.
If so, then is there any way to Extract the curves only in the required part(s) i.e., curves for only required part and curves should present inside the assembly file.
thanks in advance
