I see NX1847 hole callouts can include the relief, now, but no mention of the LH, to indicate it is a left hand thread. I also know in Oct. of 2014, both John Baker and myself submitted ER's on this, and I included the applicable specs to support the idea. (ASME B1.1-2003 section 6.3 and FED-STD-H28).
Still amazed that for as long as I have used UG/NX, this is still missing.
Im adding onto a peice and the new sheets will not sew together. If i unsew a peice from the main sheet then the new sheet will sew to it, but then it will not sew back to the main sheet. upping the tolerance does nothing. Re linking in new sheets does nothing as well. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot this?
SOLVED: Nevermind apparently NX was just being moody because all of a sudden they sew.
Hello all, New to group but not new to unigraphics. Great tool as we all know. My question is, I need perform design work for a small business, and am having trouble deciding and understanding the purchasing / leasing options. Heres my needs and any thoughts / suggestions / comments would be greatly appreciated-
I'm looking to have a version / package that will do the following.
1. sketching
2. parametric modeling ( dont really see myself needing wave operation)
3. drafting ( dont see myself needing th full blown gtd cabablities)
4. extrude text to create an engraved feature
5. export files for 3d printing and export solid models for machine shop to use for cnc machining ( i do not see a need for the creating any tool paths prior to sending file out. vendor will be performing these operations)
6.I do not plan on doing any free form surfaces
final and important for me to understand------
1. You can lease the program for a dollar amount and once yr is up, its gone unless you purchase another yearly license
2. you can purchase the program outright and pay a yearly maintanence fee- (What Happens If you decide the following year not to pay yearly mainanence fee? you lose the program, or do you run it the way it currently is installed , you just wont be able to receive version updates?
3. can I outright purchase an older version that may meet my needs abaove?
Sincerely and thats for taking the time to read this far. looking forwward to hearing anything inputs you may have. both pros and cons. and for the record, I do not anticpate evaluating any other cheaper cad packages, UG / NX is all Im interested. Too old to learn new tricks.

Today I am stuggling with Hole Table templates. I want to create a template with an Origin Symbol displayed automatically. So I create a datum symbol and then try to save table as a template and nothing happens 
I tried to edit hole table .prt files (e.g. hole_table_all_columns_metric.prt), but they are locked.
Can you suggest me any workaround?

I just searched for that, but could not find anything that helped me.
We are having an o-ring as a part family. Mostly these o-rings are black, but we also have them in different colors.
As far as I know it is not possible to achieve, that members get a different color than the parent item, but I am not 100% sure.
Does anyone know if there is a workaround to achieve that?

I am trying to pick up a piece and de-attaching it at some other point. I followed a tutorial:
I am trying the same thing but when it's done gripping, the relevant joint to gripping gets misplaced as you can see in the attached video. Any help will be highly appreciated. What could be the possible reasons for this happening?

Pressing MB1 and shaking the mouse from side to side is a new gesture called UGUI_MOUSE_SHAKE. This new gesture is reported to GIT clients whenever a user shakes the mouse.
An API is implemented to provide the value of the pointer speed at a given mouse movement gesture. This data is only valid if the current gesture is UGUI_PRE_POSITION or UGUI_DRAG_POSITION.

I have a rather large assembly that uses hundreds of fasteners from the Machinery Library. I didn't build this assembly, so upon opening in Native NX, I expect the part family members to be generated for me. Problem is only some are generating, the rest all fail with "part cannot be found with current search options". Turns out these were all made "normal parts" via a save-as procedure, and are no longer part family members.
How can I turn them back to part family members so that I don't have to go and replace every single one of them from the reuse library?
Screenshot shows a highlighted correctly generated part family member and one which couldn't be loaded.

As far as I know .obj file format has 3 types.
1- Tessellated Polygonal Faces
2- Free-form Curves
3- Free-form Surfaces
But NX does not ask anything about the type of exported file when exporting obj.
What is the type used for import/export of obj in NX?
Can anybody give me more info about obj format?
When importing a DXF file, layer names get mapped to NX Layer Category names.
When exporting a DXF , any layer category name is not used. Layers are named to the NX layer number.
Does anyone know if this can be changed.
