LMtools log for license bundles

I read on how to use LMTOOLS, config services tab, and then the "View Log..." button, to see what license bundles are being pinged.  It also shows which license was attempted to be called, and declined if unavailable, it.

13:41:14 (ugslmd) UNSUPPORTED: "NX13100N_wave" (PORT_AT_HOST_PLUS   ) dkieffer@DKIEFFERDT  (License server system does not support this feature. (-18,327))

In the above example, I tried to use the Wave Associtivity Manager, which we don't have.  My goal, is to help out our "sales rep", as we are requesting some additional features, but we are not sure what change we need.

 

Problem is, things like "Mold Wizard", and the FEA topology optimization did not create an entry in the log file that I can see.

 

Is that the case?  or did I miss something?

Hello,

 

Having two NX licences I would like to know if there are any free NX Display, only for displaying 3D pieces.

Some people in the Companny need only seeing in their computer the pieces that they have been drawn without need to buy other licences.

Hello!

Usually I read\write on Manufacturing Forum, but now - new message here.

You can import STL to NX as facet body, but very often my customers ask me about converter STL to SolidBody. Why? You can use facet body as Part Geometry for milling for 2.5 - 3 axis, but it impossible for multi-axis machining.

Few years ago I try to build UGOPEN app for read STL data from ascii file and create Bounded Plane feature (before it I build 3 lines as curves) and sew it to solid body. This process start very fast, but after 1000-2000 triangles slowdown and after 2500 - impossible to wait. For each triangle NX make update Feature Tree, and after 2000 features it become too slowly.

I can mill STL in 5axis, I wrote here about it (with User Defined Drive Method). But I WANT TO CONVERT STL TO SOLID!!!

For my tests I found this warrior:

189286 triangles189286 triangles

And I build another application, where I try to write all triangles into BREP-model.

After 2 hours:

Timestamp order

Hello

In the part navigator, is it possible to view the history with the Reference Sets (where all reference sets, solid and sheet bodies appear) and the Model History (Timestamp order checked) at the same time?

I'd like to have a separate window with a body list so I can hide and show them easily.

I'm using NX9

Associativie WCS in arrangements

I have insert a part (a steel plate) into an assembly. The part has some arrangements in it. Each arrangement shows a different X-position of the steel plate with respect to the absolute WCS. In the assembly I have added a WCS in the middle of the top surface op the plate. During creation of this WCS the option "Create interpart link" was switched on. If now another arrangement of the plate will be selected, the plate moves in X-direction as expected but the WCS stays where it is.

Does anyone have a solution to arrange that the WCS (created in the assembly) follows the plate all the time independing of what arrangement is selected??

Creating a Symbols Library in Teamcenter

Hello,

 

We are running a managed environment in Teamcenter and NX 8.5. I would like to create a global custom symbols library which can be accessed by any employee using NX through Teamcenter. Any employee should be able to create custom symbols and populate the library and it should be available to everyone else. How would I go about creating something like this?

Hide material parts on Assembly afer machining on NX CAM

what is difference between Moment of inertia(Centroid) and Principal moment

Hi

 

I'm confused between Moment of inertia(Centroid) and Principal moment.

 

If i want to use Jx = Jxx + m(dy^2+dz^2), which one will be better?. Im thinking dz,dx,dy as the distance from the neutral axis to centroid. am i right?.

unable to open NX10 files in NX11

Anyone have a chart of which version(s) of NX will open which versions of other CAD software?

 

At the moment i'm trying to translate files from CATIA V5-6 R26 SP2 HF0 (can see this with text editor) and I always end up with an empty model.  Tried NX8.5.3.3MP8 and NX10.0.3.5 MP4 with java 1.7 in 32 bit and 64 bit as well as with java 1.8 in 64 bit with no luck yet.

 

It would be helpful if I could find a chart to direct me to which NX version and Java should translate a given format. I looked around in GTAC and on website with no luck yet.

Model Compare

Hello,

 

I have an Experience with other CAD System but from last one year i am working on Siemens NX 10.

 

Right now working on Comparing two models(Old & New revision of parts) and Assembly. In Analysis there is one Feature Model Compare to compare geometries of models.

 

I also want to Compare Structural Metadata and Trees  of models. Is there any option to compare these things in NX 10??  Or any others Feature to Model Compare that newly add to Siemens NX 11 ????

Decimal marker to a comma in hole table

Hi

 

I'm hoping someone can help me.  

 

I have a hole table on a drawing but the dimensions are shown with a period as the decimal marker and they have trailling zeros.  My drafting standard is set up to reflect ISO standards so the rest of my demensions show a comma as the decimal marker and they do not have trailing zeros.  Can anyone direct me to the settings where I can bring the table in line ISO?

 

I am using NX 9.0.0.19
