Hi,
I have been having this issue in NX 11. I used the delete body function to work parametrically. When I use it in a component, the body is "deleted", but when I change the displayed part to the assembly in which the same component is, the body I "deleted" appears again.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Hello, I noticed that NX 12 was being unpredictable and unreliable when I was working with arrangements that were based on a dimension. I'd have the a door open arrangement and at one time the door would show open (correct) and then later on the door would show going into the enclosure.
Now I'm having something different. This time, I have a subassembly containing different arrangements for different positioning of components. For instance I could have "Arrangement A", "Arrangement B" and "Arrangement C" with components showing in different locations.
That part works OK, but then I noticed a problem after I put that subassembly into another assembly. While in that new assembly, I'll try to show a different arrangement of the earlier sub-assembly by selecting the subassembly, RMB, Arrangements and then selecting another arrangement that I'm wanting to display. I was able to do this successfully in NX 10 without any problem. Some arrangements display OK, but some others do not. I can have "Arrangement A" of the subassembly displayed in the assembly, but it is not the same as if I was just in the subassembly. The two "Arrangement A" arrangements are different. Any idea why this would happen? Thanks

Hi,
If, working on a part in assembly context, you change the layers of features, this changes are only valid in that assembly. If you want those changes to be at the part level, you need to make the part visible and make them actually on part level.
I understand the usefulness of having different attributes values in assemby and part levels. But.
Is there a way to change this behaviour so assigning layers in assembly changes the part level value?

I'm trying to make a drawing of a part but my drafting menus are invisible. All tabs are visible but no drafting tools. I've tried with different parts and restarted NX but it's still the same.
Any idea why?

I would ask for help, when I exported stp, I only have a log file, when disable he Geforce GTX 750, I exported normal STP. I use windows 7 and NX11. Do you have a solution that would help me?

I am attempting to find the intersection points between a circle and an ellipse. Meanwhile, my ellipse is acquired by projecting of a circle to a plane.
I have written a maltab code and use some nonlinear equations root finding method to solve for the solution.
Now I wanted to verify if my solution is valid in NX. So I use the intersection function in NX to find the intersection points and then measure the point coordinates. But I have gotten some discrepancy somewhere around 0.003 mm.
I am wondering if where I can find out the default accuracy of "Intersection" function in NX? And is it possible for me to adjust this accuracy?

I'm trying to export all PDFs and DXFs from a assembly at the same time.
I tried:
1.) Send to - Structure Manager + Expand all list.
3.) Ctrl+A =select all.
4.) Tools - Export - To PLMXML.
But no pdf or dxf appear inside selected folder...?
What is the Transfer Mode ?
At this moment, JT2Go can open pdf, but cannot handle PRC data in 3D pdf.
Are there any plans to implement viewing 3D PDF into JT2Go?
I completely agree with "PDF with JT" concept, but in the context of MBE (Model Based Enterprise)
adopting 3D pdf is still one of the major option, I think.
Hello,
I recently took the standard note in our drawing templates and embedded a flag note symbol into it. This meant that the user didn't have to manage a note and any related flag notes, now it was just one note.
The problem is that once I did that, any editing of the note is very slow, there is a noticeable performance degredation once the symbol is embedded. It is so bad I went back to our original setup.
Before I call GTAC, has anyone had issues with notes with embedded symbols?

So we have broght in many of the Machinery Library parts that Siemen provides, into our reuse library. Some of them have remembered assembly constraints, and I have users that either don't like that, or in some cases, the method, is not our typically used method for constraining the component. So...is there a way to disable remembered constraints? I haven't found anything in the customer defaults yet.

In licnesing tools>Environment setting connection status is sucessfull
I have selected the bundle also from available bundles.
But when launching NX 12 I am left with following error. NX doesnt launch.
The license is reading and running.

with NX12, (evry Version until 12.02) we have an issue while editing a flange in sheet metal.
I created a tab and a flange and then i tried to edit the flange. The Edit Option is set to "Edit Parameters" for the features. Then the following waring occours.
If i change the Edit Option to EDIT with Rollback, the issue is not there. Is this on purpose?
IN NX11 it works with both options. I did not find any thing at GTAC or at any Board / Forum.
Any ideas?

i know the exploded views have to be created in the non master part (drawing part) and not from the Master part (model part) in order to show on the drafting (non master part)
can anyone advise if i can create expoloded views if the master part (test1 ASM) is added to the non master part (dwg1)as reference part instead? because when i switch to modelling application when the non master (dwg1) is the workpart the master part(test1 ASM)geometry is missing?

I just recently switched from NX9 to NX11, and already I'm mad that I did. The ribbon toolbars have significantly slowed down my work, and I've now spent hours trying to configure it in any way that makes sense to me.
There's a few things that are really bothering me.
1) The first is that i can't seem to change the width of ribbon 'sub-categories.' So, for example, on the 'Home' ribbon tab, the Sketch portion is very narrow and cuts off icons that I would like to use. Instead to access them i need to hit the little down arrow to grab them.
2) The top menu bar (with the save, close, application, etc items) is pinned to the very top, whereas I would like it to be below the top bar (between the top bar of the window and the ribbon -- as it is on virtually every other program I have ever used). With it in the top bar, I am accidentally hitting buttons just trying to move the window around. 3) I'm wondering if there is a way to adjust the ribbon bar height. With it as large as it is now, it is cutting into the space that I actually have to work in.
4) I can't figure out how to add addtional items to different ribbons. On the analysis tab are measurement tools, but I want those on my Home tab.

we have an assembly with a component put into it. Unfortunately, the component is in pink. In the part of that component the color is green what is correct. (Make Displayed Part ---> green).
How can I make that component appear green when I watch the assembly. (Display Parent).

Hello, After locating/selecting a part in the main window, is there a simple way to find the part in the Constraint Navigator? In other CAD softwares that I've used, I've been able to simply select the part in question, RMD, and then select the option to find the part in the tree. If this is an option in NX, I haven't been able to find it.
At this point, I select the part in the main window and then scroll up and down in the constraint navigator to find the one component. That's been a huge pain when I have a few hundred components. What's frustrating, as well, is that I can have two parts that were assembled shortly after the other and they will be in completely parts of the constraint navigator. I'll try to filter how the parts are displayed in the navigator, but I haven't stumbled across what works best. Thanks
When I pull in certain .tif rasters of large engineering drawings into the modeling space the sheet shows up and I can move it around and make adjustments but the sheet is blank. However, when I open the same file using an image viewer (BRAVA or Windows Image Viewer) seperatley from NX the drawing shows up just fine. So I am pretty sure its not my .tif files creating the issue. Another interesting thing I should mention is that I originally thought it was due to large file size. However, a 700kb file may not display correctly but a 1.5MB file will display just fine. Any thoughts on how to resolve this issue or recomendations on how else I can use these .tif files to trace original drawings? Thanks!
