Hi-
How can turn off centerlines for an individual view?
I can turn them off globally by choosing View (Tab) > Show and Hide > Drawing Object > Annotation > Centerlines > - (Off). But how about for an individual view?
Thanks

Hello,
I am searching for the best way how to import part "Part1.prt" into another part "Part2.prt", but to update changes in "Part2.prt" if "Part1.prt" is modified. In other words, to keep link relation between two parts.
Best,
Danijel
Dear Siemens PLM Customer,
NX 12.0.2 Maintenance Pack 1 is now available on the Siemens PLM Download Server. This maintenance pack provides fixes built for installation on top of the Windows 64-Bit image of NX 12.0.2.
To select the release package for your platform click on the following link or enter the URL in your browser address window:
https://download.industrysoftware.automation.sieme
Note: A valid WebKey account is required.
From the Download page, enter “12.0.2.mp01” (including the quotes) in the Search box to see a list of links for the release letter and the available release package.
Alternatively, the release package can be found using the file navigator by selecting ‘NX’ from the menu on the left and then expand the following folders: Product updates > Maintenance-packs > Nx12 > Windows (64-bit).
Sincerely,
Ben Broad

NX11 and TC 11,
I am unable to clone a PART or ASSEMBLY that had CAE data associated with it. The Clone dialog clearly shows that it is capable to do so. However, I continue to get the CAD geometry to clone and no CAE data. I get the following error message:
Creation Item of selected type is not allowed. (It is refering to my cae_geometry (idealized body). You should check the state of the output part for problems. This error occorred while creating Item, Revision and/or Dataset
This error is fatal, and the operation will be abandoned.
Stuck without being able to clone my CAE data.
I'm trying to add raised text on a casting, the problem is there are no default text options that will work. The text options are different thicknesses example the vertical part of the letter M is wider than the angled part which creates a problem when I add draft because the thinner part of the text does not have much detail on the casting. Ive gone through all the default texts and I cannot find a font with all the borders the same width. What we have done in the past is export file and then add the text using Solidworks. is there a font that can be loaded where the width is consistent?NX text
Hi,
When using master model drawings, is it possible to use two different drawing standards, based on which template you load?
So by this what I mean is
- I have drawing template A created using an ISO standard
- Drawing template B is created using an ASME standard
And Customer Default > Drafting > General / Setup > Drawing Settings Origination is set to Drawing Template.
So, to my mind I should be able to say create a new part file, and then go File > New > Drawing and either
- load template A, which would set the ISO standard for drafting
- or load template B, which would set the ASME standard for drafting
Is this possible?
I've only had chance to do limited testing so far, but I'm finding that whatever I do seems to be overridden by Tools > Drafting Standard in either the model or drawing, and this seems to affect every part loaded in session.
Sorry if this seems a dumb question, I won't have chance to have a proper test until late next week, but from what I've read this seems like it should be straigtforward (as described above)?
Thanks in advance, Carl
I have a JT open in NX 11 and I am trying all the utilities I can find to try and scale this JT file. Honestly, not even sure if it is possible. Wanted to check with you guys real fast to make sure I am not going crazy.
Thanks
Hello,
I have a large Assembly of a machine and I need to simplify the model in 3D sketch, that will be used for MBD Analysis using Motion Simulation. The problem is, I cannot select any of the surface of the objects from my large assembly whenever I try to make a new Datum Plane. What setting should I change, so that I could make certain objects as reference planes? I also would like to know how to make certain objects as reference geometry while I'm sketching.
Thank you in advance!
Hi there,
Anybody could share how to use the Zones command in assembly?
I can create a box but I don't know how to use them.

Below is a picture of a project of mine.
My questions regard the first two surfaces (going from bottom to top) to the right of the highlighted surface. My first attempt at creating those surfaces were to use a single studio surface shown below, but, as you can see, this creates an extremely wonky surface when I try to put G2 constraints.
For my second attempt, I used fill surface, and this gave me much better results; the attempt is shown in the first image. However, (using the surface continuity analysis tool) this surface still gives me a G2 error that's out of tolerance. With some further manipulation using I-form, I found that the only way for me to get a G2 continuity within tolerance is to create the concave surface shown below.
My quesitons are the following:
And finally, after examining some of the surfaces I've made using studio surface, I found that the amount of poles used is extremely high. Are there any techniques to reduce the number of poles before or after creating the surface?
In NX, I can replace a family member in an assembly via the part family menu. In my case I have an string expression in my assembly file, that I wish to use. I select the family attribute in question, then in the critreria search field it type =Expression_name. An information screen appears and reads " =Expression_name is not a valid value for Expression_name". For numerical values there are no issues. My expression_name value is "SHORT". I can only assume NX is stripping the quotation marks to SHORT, and as the available valid values are "SHORT" and "LONG" there is no match. What is the solution (is it in changing the expression value, or criteria search field syntax)?
