With the new NX version NX 1847 continous update is presented.
I would like to know how continous update NX will work with the continous update of OS Windows 10
Because not all Windows 10 versions are certified, and i here that the winversion is also important (even when u use the certified windows 10 version) for example the correct video drivers.

I am some ne w with NX and in this moment I want to make some customisation on it.
I realized how to make drawing templates for parts and assemblies. My problem is how to make the NX 12 to get them from a custom folder. The standart comand "UGII_TEMPLATE_DIR=....." placed in ugii_env.dat dose not work , because then all templates are searched there (model , assembly and other).
How can I customize this? I have to work from two different PC, and therefore I want to have only on a server those templates.
In the same way I have to make some templates for CAM , which have to be on the same server.
Problem nomber two is , that I can not understand the diference between sheet and drafting template. I am using Master model concept, and tho have second and third sheet in a drawing I have registred the same template for drawing in ugs_sheet_templates.pax. Is that correct? I lookes good ,but everytime when I have to make new sheet , I have to type the same info from first sheet again. Is it possible to make this auto ?
Third problem by me is , that I have to make templates for electrode -drawing, positioning and manufacturing. I can not find any info about this type of template. Is thera some manual or?

I just typed < 0,1% in spreadsheet. When I switch to drawing sheet tabular note, it shows error. Pictures are attached.
I have checked for text format in both spreadsheet and drawing table tabular note. Its all fine. Somehow Im getting this error. Not sure Why!!

I was able to place the dimension shown by adding a point object to the top quadrant point of the arc. But I was curious if there was a way to do this without the point (or any other) object? The dimension tool didn't want to snap to the arc's top quadrant point for some reason. But maybe there's some trick I'm missing. I hope! Thanks. -Pat

I'm new on NX . I have a general question about export file types.
As you know , we can export .prt to step,iges or parasolid(.xt) from NX. For which cases i should prefer step, iges or parasolid ? or What is the powerfull export file type for NX to open export files on another design programs (Solidworks ,Catia etc.) without any face problems.? For example , i know that Solidworks is working as a parasolid base so if you want export file to open in SW you should prefer the parasolid (.xt) type file. For NX is there any similarities with SW ?

Hello, I’m using NX10 inside TeamCenter and trying to get dimensions from de model into the draft using “Feature Parameters.” It is currently hidden. After a try I get this weird warning: “hidden features cannot be used for feature parameters in non-legacy views”
In NX 10 outside Teamcenter the warning changes: “The first object associativity type is invalid”
How can I get dimensions from de model into the draft?

Where is the settings for drafting practice to change the projecting view from a first angle to a third angle projection. I know you can reverse the projection by toggling the view but there has to be a setting I am missing to default to a third angle view. I've looked & it's not in any place where one would thinkg it should be.

We want to build a sales app with augmented reality. So the customer can visualise the product on his smartphone/tablet in the room he is standing.
Since i'm not an expert in AR/VR i need assistence for the file conversion. An other company will build the AR app.
Is there anyone who knows how to convert a NX part/assembly to USDZ-file?
For sure this will need intermediate file formats since a direct translation is not available in NX.
All ideas to test are welcome.

I need to cut a solid model with a sheet body. I have a facet body I am using I tried using convergent facet body but the problem is its very difficult to work with. Is there a way I can potentially take a sheet body that doesn't match my facet body and possible morph it to the facet to get it within 1-2mm because the sheet is off around 8-10mm in some areas.
what's the actual difference between Feature Replay and NX9 Playback ?
Based on documentation it seems there isn't any substantial difference in the
underlying update mechanism, yet I have NX9 parts that fail to update when
using Playback in NX9 (or NX10) while Replay is successful in NX11.
Well ... it seems to be successful, because once the features are edited they fail
in NX11 as they do in NX9. It's Replay which just doesn't spot them.
It seems that Replay doesn't perform a real feature regeneration as Playback does.
Is there some way to restore the feature regeneration capability in NX11 ?
This seems to affect the update_all_features utility as well, and this is
how I noticed this problem. We are in the process of deploying NX11 and performing an
upversion test on NX9 parts I have noticed a strong decrease in part failures.
In all previous migrations I have always noticed an *increase* in model failures, mostly due
to the software getting more picky and less tolerant of poor modeling practices, so this picture
is pretty unique, and trying to do the same manually with Replay I noticed the same behaviour
as the upversion tool. I suppose both tools work on the same basis.
Has some system setting changed that I'm not aware of ?
A PR has just been submitted about that, but I don't think I'm the only one running upversion or using Replay.
Has anybody else noticed that ?

I'm having an issue where even just selecting the "by poles" option in the Studio Spline dialog box un-constrains some of the points in my spline. (Please see screenshots below.) Is there a way to fix some of my spline points so that they don't move when I select "by poles"? I tried constraining the spline to a plane, as well as creating a point set to snap to as recommended here, but no luck so far. Thanks for reading!
I haven't been able to find an answer to this, apologies if there's another post I missed.
Is there any way to select the next option in NX without returning my mouse to the dialog box? For example, in the screenshot below, I'd like to place a point in the intersection of two lines. After selecting the first line, is there any way change from box #1 to box #2 without returning to the dialog box? In Solidworks I could often just RMB click and it would move to the next field, but this doesn't seem to work in NX.

Is it possible to use the Sheet Zone Reference function for objects, specifically, balloon notes? I woud like to auto-update the position of the balloons relative to the sheet zones in my parts list table.
Linear pattern geometry have an option for rotating idividual geometry ?

A few days ago I sew a meme on facebook that say

I want to export an image of a part sectioned with edit section and section curve preview active.
Before 12.0.2.9
click Edit Section
click Show Section curve preview
click Export image
and I can save image like example 1 attacched
After 12.0.2.9
click Edit section
click Show Section curve preview
click Export image
and NX close command Edit section, so it's impossible to have a sectioned image whit curve active, I must to copy to clipboard and attach in photoshop for have the same image.
If these are the advantages of maintenance I think it's the last year that I pay for it!!
