Good day all. This is my first post on the NX community website. I'm by no means an experienced user but I manage to get what I need done. I can't seem to find the switch for the small issue stated in the subject... I can't seem to change the number of places after the decimal point. Not sure which version of NX 11 I'm using. Any help would be appreciated.

How to activate assembly load option "minimal load" in NX12 with Teamcenter 11.2
Hello,
I want to test the load performance improvement and behaviour coming with NX12 thanks to „minimal load“. I installed NX12.0.0.27 with the Teamcenter version 11.2, updated the NX template files etc. but still can’t see the option for „minimal load“ in assembly load options. Here a related topic for this load option:
Can anybody help me regarding this problem? Do I need a specific version of NX12 or Teamcenter? Or did I forget to set an option in NX Customer Defaults or Teamcenter settings?

Drafting: Page number in title block
Good day,
While drafting a title block in NX 12, what is the way to set a cell to be populated automatically with the sheet number? I ask this because i´m working with a file that has several sheets. If i edit the title block with the corresponding sheet number (sheet 4 of 25 for example), it is updated for all the sheets.
I´m sure there´s a function for this, but i ignore it.

Layer functions
I'm curious as to who and how are people using layers when designing parts? Do you feel this is a critical component to designing in NX? I know there is still a need on the drawing side.

Teamcenter preview
When I see the thumnails of the items sometimes it shows the 3D model and sometimes the drafting sheet. How does it work? and how can I select that always shows the 3D model thumnail? Thanks

use of Match Edge
I noticed that Alias seems to put its Align command at an extremely important position in surfacing workflow.
I know that Match Edge is the NX equivalent to Alias' Align. But to spreak frankly, I never used Match Edge in my limited experience with NX.
Do you surfacing people use Match Edge very frequently as Alias users? Thanks for your comments!

Diferent component position in an assembly if it is displayed or if it is inside other displayed ass
I have noticed this behaviour since we updated to NX12. I am not sure if this was happening before but I would like to avoid it.
When I move components that have no restrictions in an assembly but I do when opening an upper assembly I find them in different possition if I open the assembly that directly contains the components.

Price increase?
I just got my maintenance renewal quote and was surprised to see it had gone up. I asked my var about it, and they said there was a "big" price incease last year. Is that true? I just licensed NX last summer(and it wasn't cheap) so not too happy to see it go up. I hope this isn't a trend!

History limit
Is there a way to limit the history, that NX maintains?
On the palette, you have Today, Yesterday, Past Week, 3 Weeks Ago, and Older Entries. I know you can clear the history, but can you limit it to just 1 week for example?

Thicken Gyroid surface model, offset surface problems, highly complex geometry, convergent modeling
Hi there,
i tried to thicken a gyroid surface which lacks any thickness right now (freshly baked out of matlab imported via STL).
Does anyone knows how to thicken a gyroid element or this kind of trippy surfaces?
I tried offset surface and thicken already of course.
But there are several settings i dont really understand.
Furthermore i am thinking of a workaround -> assemble two gyroids next to each other (like 1mm offset) and try to create somthing in the watertightballpark
Any clues?

Reuse Library - Syntax of KRX and Excel file?
I am currently evaluating the functionality of the Reuse Bibrary for an eventual customization.
What I need to know is:
- Where can I find a complete reference of the KRX file syntax with all supported parameters?
- Where can I find a complete reference for the options/parameters which can be defined in the Excel/Spreadsheet for a reusable component?
For my specific case, I need to know, if it is possible to define different output folders for subcomponents of a resuable assembly and how to disable some of the UI components of the Add/Edit Reusable Component dialog.

Part name in balloon
Hi,
we want to use the part name in the ballooning instead of callout, but for part name less more long the standard, the text goes outside the underline.
Exist a setting to position the text on the left and the underline grow related to the text length ?

Part Mass and Surface area on Drawing
Hello All,
I am trying to get the part mass and surface area on the drawing template.
To acheive this, I created a custom attribute in the seed part called My_mass and linked it to the NX_Mass attribute.
Unfortunately, the value does not change when a end user created a new part using this seed part.
Refer to attached video for details.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for achieving this?

MCD: Different behavior of collision-bodies on different computers
Hello community,
I need some advice on a strange problem:
In NX-MCD you can use collision-bodies in order to define how elements collide with others.
When defining collision-bodies you can set categories to specify which geometry a collision-body should react with and which to ignore.
As a very simplified example, I have attached a MCD-Assembly consisting of two overlapping rigid-bodies (hold in place with fixed-joints) and both with dedicated collision-body.
The two collision-bodies are setup in different categories.
When I run the MCD-simulation, on MOST computers the result is as expected: Both bodies stay fixed as the different categories of the collision-bodies inhibit any reaction.
But on one of our Laptops, a HP Z-Book with a NVIDIA M2000M graphic-card, the behavior is different: Both bodies start to wiggle and move as if the collision-bodies react on each other.
When I deactivate on or both collision-bodies, everything remains fixed.
Has anyone any idea on this?!

How to parametrize an ellipse with expressions
Hi,
i want to change a regular ellipse with expressions - therefore i create a sketch and use the ellipse curve tool.
Two different expressions for major and minor radius were applied.
(see picture)
When i click apply or ok those expressions turn into values which are no longer dependent on those initial expressions.
Is it possible to let the expressions control the curve permanently?

Mirror Over a Circumfrence (Not a Plane)
Hello All,
Is it possible in NX 10 to take a 3D feature (Hearts) and revlove them over a revolved surface or body?
I have attached 2 pictures as a reference. The "3D Heart" pic is what I would like to mirror "Over Revolved Surface (circumfrence)" picture. Everthing I find will only allow mirroring over a plane. I thought the transform feature might be able to accomplish this, but it doesn't look like it at this point.

Large model, can't control updating
I have a large model (4000 features). I'll give a really simple example to demonstrate my issue:
Lets say that I have 2000 sketches, each has 1 point, or circle that I use to control a single hole.
So each of the 2000 sketches have only 1 child, a hole.
If i'm at current feature 4000, and I want to edit the first sketch in my model, this will only change 1 hole. However the model will update the other 1999 holes, and this is very time consuming. None of the other sketches or holes are related to the edit I make, but it still updates them.
Scenario #2.
I am again at feature 4000. I enter sketch feature #1 because I want to check the dimension. I enter the sketch, don't click anything, and exit the sketch. The model will go through a 15 minute update session all the way through the tree.
This costs me about 2 hours per day over the last year at work. Any suggestions?
again, this is a simplified example that demonstrates the problem.

NX 9 running slow
I have nx9.0 basic version with academic perpetual licenses (30 Licenses).I have installed license on server machine.
But problem is when I open NX on client machine it is opening very slow and also Nx is running very slow.
Many times nx not opening and showing licensing error eventhogh every thing configured correctly.
What could be the reason?
any suggestions?
