Names gone, in Reuse Library
Some how I have managed to have the names disappear in the reuse library. Other users see the names, but I'm not sure what I inadvertantly changed. I suspect it was something I deemed unrelated

Design packaging in NX (cardboard box)
Hi,
Any recommendations to design advanced packaging in NX?
I have been asked to help in the design of a new packaging for a product. I am wondering if NX has any module or features to help me in this task.
My idea is to develop a "box" in 3D and then obtain a flat-pattern. I am thinking to use "sheet metal" if there is no other alternative.
Comments would be gratefully received!

Optimize clamping of a part
We design & build machining fixtures for turbine blade manufactures. Most all of the fixtures utilize a 6 point nest to locate the part with 3 primary locators, 2 secondary locators & a single tertiary locator. The one issue that we always seem to have is the best place on the part to put the clamping without moving it off of those 6 locators. Would the simulation add on be something that could show this or is that based more on a motion that you apply within the program. Or would there be a better option available. What we’re doing now is poke & hope that it’s not going to move which is not the best way to do some of them. Thanks.

Error when adding Non Structural mass to the Nastran simulation
I am getting the following error on NX10 Nastran when I apply a non-structural mass to a 2d surface:
ERROR : NSM(1) load/SSSO are not applied as a result of an incorrect selection
Any help would be awesome, thanks!

selection "Tangent Curves" fails
Below is a simplified model:
- There had been a sharp edge on the strip.
- Face Blend was used to blend the sharp edge with various radius from 0 to 2, with "Trim Body to Blend" unchecked.
- The strip was then trimmed with the two edges of the blend.
- Bridge Surface was use to bridge the gap with G2 continuity.
My problem:
- In Thru Curve Mesh, with "Tangent Curves" checked, the edge can't be selected with one click.

Mirror assembly:NX11
Hi,
Mirror assembly in NX11 results in linear pattern!!!!!
Recently upgraded to NX11. Reuse and repostion resulting in body copied to certain distance insted of mirroing. My objective is to get part mirrored and linked to the main body. Non-associative mirror is happening here. But I couldnot select Associative option even if part is being selected. Tried alternative solution in mirror assembly wizard.
All went well in NX10. Anybody has suggestions,please let me know.

Material in a PMI note
I have evernything in place, to populate drawings with the material asigned in the model file (master model, in Teamcenter)
Now my question...I have a PMI note in our model seed file, and I want to include the material, but since it's the seed file, the NX_Material attribute, hasn't been created, and I don't seem to be able to manually create it. How do I get around that, so my PMI note is self populating?

G2 surfacing technique
Below is a model from the web. I think that some of you, at the first glimpse of it, would know what I want to ask about.
Its surfcing technique seems to be some kind of antique G2 surfacing technique.
Is it still a sound technique or simply replaced by more advanced ones today? Your comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

MUTLIPLE STEP FILES OPEN IN A SINGLE STEP FILE
Hello all,
One of my client whenever he tries to open a step file after importing it comes along with an another step or iges file gets opend along with that so they've reinstalled NX and it was working fine, again after a few months he started getting this issue.
Can anyone suggest me only reinstallation is we have to do even though I guess it's not a std solution or any other methods to resolve this!

How can I add a suffix inside a Reference Dimension
I want to add a suffix letter separated with a vertical "splitting line" inside a Reference Dimension.
Allready tried with the suffix function in the dimensioning dialog - but with no success as the suffix then is placed outside the reference bounding box

Spreadsheet import of parameters and dxf export
Hi!
Im looking for a solution to get a dxf file. I do have a parametrised 2D Model and I'd like to 1. Multiply the Model 2. adjust the parameters/expressions with the spreadheet and 3. export all of them in one dxf.
My goal is to be able to quickly type in my values in an excel, and export a dxf with the assembled drawings to get a short workflow for lasercutting.
So:
1. Pattern the Model with different Parameters
2. Export a DXF ready to lasercut
PS: Im also stuggling with correctly exporting dxf's. My functioning Method is: save as -> dxf. And referencelines have to be moved to another layer, which can then be disabled in the export option. the problem is that I do have to move the specific lines everytime before I export.

NX11 Bad quality of shaded view in PDF
Hi everyone,
we are trying to implement QR labels for the different models of our circuit breaker. I have modelled a label as a 3D object and now I am trying to create a drawing of it and export it in PDF. I have used the "Assign Feature Color" command in order to make my label black and white. In order for the colors to appear on the drawing I made the view Fully shaded. The problem is that when I export to PDF the quality of the shaded view is really bad. Does anyone have perhaps any suggestions on how to solve this?

can someone explain me the meaning of the attributes "Volume Extension" when defining a Pneumatic Cylinder. There are sometimes some errors indicating a "negative extension volume" and the NX-help does not help this time ...

Derive .prt file
Hello to all,
I am searching for the best way to derive or import .prt inside .prt. What do you suggest?
I am using CRTL+C / CTRL+V. Durring that I have to redefine some references such as planes..etc.. so I would like to import part inside a part without any additional settings and redefinition except where to place.
Exporting to .iges and import is a fine method but it explodes my model on thousands of bodies.

NX11 Move Component - Display Assembly Constraints in Graphics Window
Is there a Customer Default, preference/setting or environment variable to permanently turn on Assembly Constraints in the Graphics Window?
When I use Move Component and set the Transform Motion option to By Constraints, I would like to see the constraints in the graphics window as I am applying them. However my system is set now, I constantly have to go over to the Assembly Navigator, and toggle on Display Constraints in Graphics Window. I want this ON all the time if possible.
