Situation:
We have a lot of "standard notes" that are stored as parts in TC, then we have a GRIP program that (essentially) does a "File -> Import part" to add them to drawings.
Many of these have embedded user defined symbols (UDS)
We just upgraded from NX7.5 to NX10, so I'm trying to get us into the 2000s and use Arial font (instead of Leroy). Part of this is upgrading the standard notes.
If I just switch the note text to Arial, the UDSs look "clunky" (the "text" in them is still "leroy", and the line thicknesses/weights are different as well).
So I try to replace them with Custom Symbols.
Everything looks better, the text inside the symbols looks good, etc.
Only problem... If the template part is metric, and I import it into an "inch" part, the symbols are HUGE (like maybe 25.4 times too large) (symbol I have been testing is Siemens supplied "Triangle up" identification symbol).
So I file an IR (7787482) and the response is... "This is an enhancement"
Huh?
You (Siemens) are suggesting we convert from UDS to CS as CS are the "new improved" way to do this, and this issue is an ENHANCEMENT?
No wonder people don't use new NX technology!
Like someone suggested, right now I feel like a "steamed" contributor
