NX11 Customized Crosshatch
Hi Guys,
I´m a bit worried. I want to create a special crosshatch i need. And it must be slectable from the crosshatch defnition files. i got there the file xhatch.chx
is there any option how to learn how to create them, any documents?
Or is it just that simple and i did not figure it out
the files are build like this

How to create a parabola by equations in NX10
Hi everyone,
Here is my problem :
I need to create a parabola with these equations :
X=t
Y=0
Z=t²/4*F
where " F " is the focal length (a value that I could change).
A tool already exists in NX (Curve -> More -> Parabola) but I have to create new curve everytime when I need to change the focal lentgth.
I would like to change just the paramater " F " in the " Part Navigator " to change the parabola shape.
Do you know if this is possible ?

Mouse over highlight problems
Hi,
I am recently having problems with the mouse over and the selection parameters.
Sometimes, without any apparent reason, the highlight selection on rollover stops working and, for example, when I double-click a Sketch it doesn't go to the "Edit Sketch in task environment". It just does nothing. It is very annoying to work like this, having to go to contextual menu to edit EVERYTHING, even a dimension...
I think the Selection preferences are as they should be.

NX Expressions with limits

I have a situation that to one dimension i have to define limits like upper and lower limits in modeling it self.
i.e may be in sketch or in feature parameter, is it possible or not..

Best way to get assembly information to NX from other cad programs.
Hello,
In my position we work exclusivly with NX. We design injection molds. Currently we have vendors that use other software programs and we dont require them to submit data to us in NX.
My question is what is the best format to get data and keep the assembly structure and component names, Currently we are using STEP but I was curious if anyone had any better ways of keeping this structure and names.

no results+ warning : when save files the following files -no write access

The directory for saving the model files is a folder in the installation folder (GUII). As I get no writing access when saving files- I change the destination for another drive D, and it saved.
when do-solve-for my model it runs successfully but with no result file I can see, even when there is no warning or error.
As a check, instead of solve, I did (edit, write input file and solve) and I got a warning that fem, and fem-i files have not saved -no write access (the installation folder-even I changed it destination from file-save-save option)

patterns
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to use one pattern (the same exact pattern) on multiple models so that when you change the pattern it changes on all of the models. Example: I have several different size plates with the same screw hole pattern in all of them. I want to be able to change one pattern and have all of the screw holes in all of the plates update. Is this possible with NX 10?

NX no solution: failed to write output file

please your help, I stopped in this step and cannot overcome it since 3-days

Another trail-followed the default saving and run solver a message at the bottom bar said: error solver failed to write --- in the log file all check has not error but last sentence (Error opening file model1_sim1-solution_1.diag)
Is it related to the license (I have) but I am concerned if I software does not read it or there is problem need to solve here.

Easy question
I can't recall what is the key sequence to switch between line and arc segments when using the "profile" curve function in sketcher. I've tried the usually suspects like A and L, arrow keys, ctrl, shift..I just can't remember the magic key sequence. All help is appreciated!

NX 11 NODE LOCK LICENSE ISSUE
This is regarding NX 11...I tried installing a node lock license at one of my customer place of NX10 with NX 11 lic file which is of Node lock but where they were already working on a floating license on nx 9 getting the lic from server and when i tried to edit the SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER VARIABLE to the node lock license file location which is at C:\Siemens folder even after doing that NX is not working .. i checked in licensing tool option in nx 10 where the env setting option when i'm changing my previous 28000@Server name to my node lock lic file location still it is unable to take the lic file and showing -1004 error cant cannot to lic file..basically it is not pointing to the specified file location..
In this case what am I supposed to do?? Any suggestions
what should be in env variable settings
?? how to make this work and i've checked the host id is matching with that particular system
But as soon as i change my variable to previous server location to 28000@Server name it is working fine on NX9 but nx 10 it is not taking the file

Drawing view - hidden component management
Hello, I inherited a large assembly drawing and I'm trying to see what is the best way to deal with hidden components. The initial person who created the assembly did not work with layers or arrangements. For hiding components in the drawing views, it appears that he just used the Hidden components selection within Edit view. Since I'm supposed to only be making some "minor" changes and getting them done quickly, I'm trying to just follow what it appears he originally did.
I'll select a view, Edit, and select the "Select Objects" for Hidden components. What I find perplexing is that when I select "Select Objects" for that one view edit, all of the objects within all of the views become hilighted. Is that what's supposed to happen? Now I have to go in and select every hilighted part within the boundary of the drawing view to see if it's actually selectable (in that view).
I would have assumed that since I hit one view and then hit edit, only the objects within that view would hilight - not every object in the drawing. Thanks

NX 11 MCD: Data export to TwinCat
Hello PLM Community,
our project team has designed a test rig/test device for transportation, separating and welding of cans.
What i have done so far:
- exporting the parts and assembly (NX10 and Teamcenter)
- import the files in NX 11 (native)
- creating rigid bodys and collision bodys
- defining the joints, sensor and actuators
- using the sequence editor to define the tasks and condition objects
- using the signal adapter to combine multiple conditions (e.g. limit switch a =true & collision sensor b =true)
The Problem:
- the software department would like to import the data in twincat 3 in order to develop the software, i used RMB -> Export PLCopen XML, but that does not work properly.
In the end it should look like figure 102 on page 96 in the MCD_Quick_Start guide.
What else can i do?

Mechatronics Concept Designer collision sensor
Hi Community,
i hope someone can help me with this problem:
If a collision body on a transport surface passes the collision sensor, the sensor is triggered once. If there is a jam on the transport surface the collision sensor is triggered permanently.
I want an operation (emergency stop or jam breaker) in the sequence editor to start if the collision sensor is triggered longer then, for example, 4 seconds. How can i do that?

NX Shape Realization
Hello,
The question concerns NX Shape Realization
Say you have 4 solid bodies in the picture below. I'm trying to use NX Realize Shape to create a body in between that connects all those 4 bodies. Is there a way to "extrude" my cage faces to the free faces of those 4 connecting bodies? The solid bodies have NOT been made using NX Realize shape and I can't seem to use the "Bridge Face" command.
Thereafter, is it possible to enforce a "tangent" connection between the solid body and the Realized Shape?

Exact Views in NX10 Drafting
I have a drawing with views that show out of date. They were up to date when saved, but when I try and update them I get the error attached. "Exact Curve could not be created". This has happened to a few of my drawings. I have looked online for a resolution, but have failed to find any answers. Any suggestions/advice?

Reuse Library in Electrical Routing
Dear All! I have a following question: while working in electrical routing modul, I have used some objects from the Reuse Library, but I cannot find them anywhere as native files. How to check the path where the files visible in the library are stored?
I have checked the Customer defaults etc. and found out that some parts are available in the
C:\ugii\ugnx11\UGROUTE_ELEC\metric\parts But under this path not all files are visible. The same situation is reproducable in the native NX and started from Teamcenter.
As example here are also some files, e.g. Stock which I cannot find anywhere.
