I am curretly working with expressions and UDF in NX 9:
My Problem statemenT includes expression and UDF: I wish to use self defined expressions in UDF as an option
Expression:
a=8
b=9
c=10
d=11
Diameter=a or b or c or d
In UDF I wish to give these predefined expression as options.
Is it possible to give these expression names as option in UDF?
e.g

Diameter: a

why the distance is different?
When I used the function of swept, I want to make sure the distance between the profile and the center axis is equal, see fig 1, but the minimum distance is unequal, I am **bleep**, please see the video about the process of modeling.

Need Help! Detail of Station is missing in Strip Layout nevigator.
Helo i am new on Nx PDW. Atcually my problem is that i have done all prerequisist step properly from defining intermediat stage to making Scrap design. When i create strip layout , all stations detail and unprocess operation detail is missing in strip layout navigator. Any one please tell me how i can figure out this problem.

Create Surface Through Points --> Points from File
Hi all
I'm trying to use the function Create Surface Through Points --> Points from File to create a surface but get an error "Not enough row for desired column degree"
I'm not sure if there is a problem wth the command or if the format of the points file is incorrect.
Does anybody have any insight into this function and how the point file sould look.
I ahve attached my point file for reference.

Failing launching NX after install
I have got a licence for a try out of Cool Shape, got NX installed and the right bundle selected in the LMtool controlling the server..
But launching NX gives me an error, stating conflict between license version and NX version.
I've tried running the opgrade to the nx (1876-wintx64), but my laptot claims it's not suited to run on this pc.
Got 24 years of experience with NX, but surely not in the installation area.
Any idea why I am not up and running yet ?

Assembly dimension in MB
Good Morning,
I have a part file whit geometry, it less than 20MB,
I need to add some components to this part ( around 10 parts in assembly).
Now the part is around 350MB, no geometry added, only parts in assembly tree.
It's normal??

NX 7.5 mirror curve in Sketch
Hi ,
I encountered a problem : when I mirror curve in sketch ; the mirrored curve is not associated with the parent curve.
It would update when I modified the parent curve.
Green curve is parent curve ; orange curve is mirror curve. The mirror symbol above the orange curve disappeared after the mirror command completed.
Can anybody tell me what has gone wrong ?

CADENAS error message
Today users are getting a "No write permission to create the Folder: infodba:CADENAS Library". We don't subscribe to CADENAS, and users are getting this randomly. I can prompt the error it by clicking on CADENAS Library in the Reuse Library.
Anyone else seen this?

Seed Model Material
Is there a way to use the seed model (model template) to automatically assign a default material to the solid bodies that get created in new parts? Here is the problem I am trying to solve. We often create many parts in an assembly very quickly and don't assign materials, so any weight estimate is very wrong. Just for a quick swag at it, it would be nice if every part defautled to ABS or something until manually updated. NX 11.

Resistors in 3 Conditions

I have to create a one model of resistor which would be used in 3 conditions that is straight, left bend and right bent.
For Example please refer attached part which is to used in straight condition, left bent and right bent. Bending location marked in the image. Kindly suggest some solutions.

link the hole to another part (top down assembly)
i want to link the points of hole to another part so that if i will change the hole from first part then it another hole on that part will change due to link of first hole.so is there any option or command rather thank wave geometry linker.

sheet body convert to solid body when NX is closed
I want to extract the outer surface of a sphere (solid body), that is a linked body (named : Solid Body "BALL").
To do that, I used the "Extract Geometry" function, as shown on the picture below.
A "sheet body" is created I added it to the reference set to see it clearly (named : Sheet Body "BALL" in the reference set). The violet surface in the picture.
So far, so good ...
But the problem is appearing, when I close NX. Once I reopen the part, the previous sheet body is converted into a solid body !!
It looks like it was converted as a solid, but only when NX has been closed.
Now, there are two solid bodies and no more sheet body in the reference set.
It's very odd, because it's a simple function...
I absolutely don't understand why a sheet body is converted automatically into a solid body !
Please let me know, if you have already this problem

convert offsetbody into step file.
hello expert,
I am trying to make step file of offset body of tube. but its only tube is convert into step. I want only step file of offsetbody , its only occure if there is solid body. could i make offsetbody into solidbody? Is there any way to make solid ?? I tried so many thing but not working. here i attached same example of my problem.

NX 11 - Drafting VD Curve invalid

NX11 - PVTRANS - Error encountered during Translation
we are running in 4 tier Teamcenter
but i got below error while trying to create JT using PVTRANS
PVTRANS: *** Error encountered during Translation-> 940077: Required 2 tier parameters
to connect to Teamcenter are not set.

How to turn off REFERENCE_COMPONENT by expressions
Hello,
in assembly level we would like to have parametric sketch (for example U-profile bar) with 3D and components will be raw materials (in TC BOM will be visible only the chosen component - assembly will be substituted with BOM children) so usage of attribute REFERENCE_COMPONENT (Component is Reference-Only) is needed. The thing is that there will be more materials (all range of profile sizes), so if by expression will be chosen one material, the rest have to be hidden in TC BOM. For example, attribute UG GEOMETRY (Component is Non-Geometric) works just fine, you can turn it on/off by expression as you wish, but not with REFERENCE_COMPONENT attribute, once it is added to expression list, it is turn on (it is hidden from TC BOM) no matter what value is written to that attribute - for example to set it back to "No Value" state. Is there any possible solution for our purposes?

Lost of menu configuration after deleting temp files
A workmate is complaining that he customize the options of some menus like export pdf or export dxf but when something wrong happens and he has to delete temp files he loses those configurations. Shouldnt those configurations be stored in C:\Users\*\AppData\Local\Siemens?
