looking for a solution to a problem.
I currently have two handed parts, one is complete with its drawing. I have done a save as of this part and mirrored the model. How do I then get NX to update the drawing on the mirrored part without having to delete all views and dimensions and manually go in and in effect re-draft the mirrored part?

I am looking to place the part navigator on a 2nd screen. in the resource window of the part navigator the option "dock on 2nd monitor" is ghosted out.
How toI get the part navigator over to the 2nd monitor?

Hi Guys,
the small issue maybe, but can't find a solution. And I believe you guys can.
I created myself a template for a drawing frame and a header( needed it in german language). When I now change the size of the sheet my header stays at the position I placed it. Placement was done with an associative point to the frame line.
I expected that the header moves always to the correct position.
I want a note above a base view. I want when I print the drawing the triangle above the bleu lines (see photo). Can enyone help me with this??

My name is Gualda and I have a question about NX10. I have an object and I would like to do and associative pattern following a matrix or a datum. Firstly what I have tried is to do directly a Copy, but it doesn’t have the possibility to be associative which the first object, which should be the master. I show in the next picture P_1.
Also I have tryed creating a featured group and using featured pattern, but it also affected to the original object, chaning the geometry as you can see in picture P_2.
There isnt any comand special for object?

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it's been fixed but I find the dialog behavior I'm about to describe quite odd.
I've got a model in which I'm rolling back to an earlier feature and attempting to use Extract -> Region of Faces with Associativity turned OFF. I'm not interested in WAVE linking or associativity - I just want a single body with multiple faces and I don't want to have to use remove parameters (just a wasted step when I can turn off the Associative option).
So, I define the Region and when I uncheck the Associativity button, the Fix at Current Timestamp checkbox disappears. Then when I press OK I get a message that Fix at Current Timestamp needs to be turned on.
What gives - I can't turn it on. Shouldn't the default "logic" be that it's already ON whether it's shown or not? This isn't going to end up being a feature other than a Body so what does it matter where a dumb body sits in the Model Navigator????

I have recently been able to import the items using the machinery library tool into our TC11 Tier 4 environment.
I am able to correctly show the items in a reuse library.
However when trying to add a item to my assembly using the reuse library I get the error:
"Family member part is already loaded so it cannot be created" followed by another error message saying:
"Failed to add knowledge-enabled part."
Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem?

I work in approach Layer settings in NX. I want one part from Layer settings save Individually and then that part move to Assembly approach.
How do I do that.
Layer settings has 20 different parts. I need one from that and Save it as individually part and that part move to Assembly approach.

I am new to NX and i want to know what difference it makes if i use specified new datums or link to original option.
If i want body to be automatically get modified when parent feature is modified then what should i do ?
Also i pasted a sewed body which was solid body (after i sewed competely enclosed surfaces) but after pasting it in new part file became sheet body again what is the reason ?
Although when i deleted pasted sew and sewed back it again in new part file it became solid.

What is this error in Nastran input file when I run it ? in mass matrix for M11 I have a number with negetive exponential like 5-6 , but to whatever number I change , it bugs me with error bellow, how to correct it, or how can I know the total mass ,when I have the mass matrix

Hi, when exporting an assembly with a custom arrangement with components that are moved with Override Position to STEP, the resulting STEP file has the components in the position of the default arrangement instead.
More detail: When I have an assembly and arrangement A where I only move the immediate sub-assembly components, I can simply move the components with the Apply to Used option, without needing to set the components to Override Position. Exporting to STEP in this situation works fine, the components in the STEP file are positioned correctly according to arrangement A.
However, when the components are nested further down the hierarchy, the components need to be set to Override Position in order to control the position from the topmost assembly part arrangement. In this case when exporting to STEP, the resulting STEP file erroneously has the components in the default arrangment rather than the custom arrangement.
How can this problem be solved?

Our license server manages a mix of floating and node locked licenses. We are upgrading a few workstations, at least one of which uses a node locked license. I got some paperwork from my reseller that asks for the old/new composite host ID. The new computer (a laptop) lists 2 composite ID's (one for the ethernet connection, the other for the wireless). Which one should I report for the license change? Does it matter?
Two questions regarding thumbnails...
1. how do you kickstart the thumbnail display for a particular version? i.e my NX12 history shows thumbnails but file - open does not. NX 10 shows no thumbnails in either place.
2. is it possible to show thumbnails in multiple releases at the same time? i.e. I have read referernces to a shell dll to fix in individual releases, but evidently the root changes from 10 to 11. I am currently running 10, 11 and 12 at any given time, bouncing back and forth.
Unfortunately this affects all of the thumbnails in the resource library as well. I currently need to demo a symbol library in 10, which is difficult with no thumbnails.

I have been working the last couple of weeks with user defined views in the drawing file(master modeler method). I have som huge assemblies with 50,000 instances and I have found some cool ways to make custom views by using component groups. It is good for creating and maintaining views.
So anyway I am using proximity for some views and it selects just the single components around the particular part but sometimes for other places in the drawing file in the modeling application it selects the assembly as well. The count is correct, but I can't just deselect the assembly.
Does anyone know what is going on here? My context is fine and my selection rule is inside.

I have been able to import a raster image onto a datum plane manually by using the NX GUI. I did this and recorded the journal which I transcribed into C# for use as a .dll. When I run all the same steps, I get an error, code 3520110. This error is thrown at the step where I am identifying the corner points of the image. I am 90% sure the issue is in how the image is aligned. In other words, my rectangle doesn't match up with the image orientation and so it is looking for pixels that aren't there. I have set a reference alignment vector to be the (bottom to top) y axis of my image but it doesn't seem to have an effect. Any thoughts?

Is there a way to skip a sheet when creating a Parts list? I have a 8 sheet drawing and sheet 3 is nothing but a wiring diagram and does not require a parts list.
Question 2.
I am having an issue where the continuation of the parts list isn't functioning right.
I have around 70 items and when I change the hieght to something smaller it always goes to the next sheet. I have the continuation set to right and it does not work.

When I enter the setup optimization the approximate design space mass is about 50 million kg, and the minimum mass target is even bigger (80 billion kg). Obviously this is not right. Can anybody give me any suggestions why this is not displayed properly and what I can change to make this right?

I am currently using Creo at work, and we are migrating to NX. We used to be able to create custom screw very easily, however, I haven't be able to do it using NX. I am wondering if anyone here can enlighten me. Please see example below - As you may see, we started with a straight thread then tapper at an angle. The thread profile is buttress thread. I appreciate anyone who can help me create the same screw in NX. Thank you y'all.
