Looking at creating a part family for the NAS1791 series of nutplates, but this series is a bit different, in that the "nut" is replaceable, and that piece is NAS1794, and the clip is NAS1795.
My thought was to build the base, and add all of the nuts and clips, then use suppress by expression, including that expression in my part family spreadsheet. BUT, the more I think about it, the matrix of combinations is fairly large, so the margin for error is high, and may not be worth the ROI.
5 basic thread sizes, with 6 different nut heights/counterbores, and 2 different material options (I'd skip the material options), so a total of 30 combinations. EDIT: To add more complexity, NAS1794 and 1795 would be part families too.
Has anyone done anything like this?
