OPC DA signals not working in subassemblies

Dear all,

I have an assembly containing 36 signals (position control, speed control and distance sensors).
I can connect these signals to OPC variables no problem in this assembly.

However, when i use this assembly as a subassembly I can still link the OPC variables, but the values don't pass through, they just stay at the default value of '0'.

Each signal is linked to a position/speed/distance control using parameters in a signal adapter.

Is there something that I'm doing wrong?
