what's the actual difference between Feature Replay and NX9 Playback ?
Based on documentation it seems there isn't any substantial difference in the
underlying update mechanism, yet I have NX9 parts that fail to update when
using Playback in NX9 (or NX10) while Replay is successful in NX11.
Well ... it seems to be successful, because once the features are edited they fail
in NX11 as they do in NX9. It's Replay which just doesn't spot them.
It seems that Replay doesn't perform a real feature regeneration as Playback does.
Is there some way to restore the feature regeneration capability in NX11 ?
This seems to affect the update_all_features utility as well, and this is
how I noticed this problem. We are in the process of deploying NX11 and performing an
upversion test on NX9 parts I have noticed a strong decrease in part failures.
In all previous migrations I have always noticed an *increase* in model failures, mostly due
to the software getting more picky and less tolerant of poor modeling practices, so this picture
is pretty unique, and trying to do the same manually with Replay I noticed the same behaviour
as the upversion tool. I suppose both tools work on the same basis.
Has some system setting changed that I'm not aware of ?
A PR has just been submitted about that, but I don't think I'm the only one running upversion or using Replay.
Has anybody else noticed that ?
